Chapter 6

I wake up during the night to hear crying at first I think its Nadine but when I step out into the hallway I hear that its Justin I move quickly into his room and see him laying in his bed crying
“baby boy what’s wrong?” I ask as I hug him
“mummy I had a nightmare it was scary mummy and auntie Nadine left me” he cries
“aww sweet boy I’m never leaving you and neither is Nadine okay we are always here” I say kissing his head then the smell hit I pull the covers off of Justin’s body to see that he’s wet the bed
“aww babes come lets get you clean” I say he climbs out of bedroom and walks with me to the bathroom I take his clothes off and put him in the bath I wash him and wrap a towel around his small body and carry him through to his room, I change him into clean PJ’s and carry him to my room
“you sleep in mummy’s bed tonight yeah” I say he just nods in reply he’s eye are getting heavier so I place him in the bed and climb in next to him he lays his head on my chest and stroke his hair soon he is asleep and I slowly begin to drift off to.
I feel something on my nose I open my eyes slowly to see Justin running a finger down my nose it makes me smile he looks up and sees im awake
“your awake mummy good morning” he smiles
“morning son” I smile I lift him up and place him on my stomach I kiss his nose ad ruffle his hair causing him to laugh
“mummy don’t mess my hair up” he huffs
“oh I’m sorry baby” I say I hear my bedroom door open and walks in Nadine she sits on the other side off the bed I can see she’s been crying I place an arm around her and she lets out a sigh
“why the long sigh?” I ask
“I don’t want to go there today” she says quietly
“well if you want I’ll go and get your stuff and you can stay here and look after Justin if its easier” I say stroking her hair
“really would you do that?” she say
“yeah of course babes you are my best friend” I say with a smile
“thanks babes” she gives me a small smile
“Diney's my friend too” Justin says
“yes you are little man” Nadine said lifting him up holding him in the air and then brining him down and kissing him all over his face
“stop, stop Nadine” he shrieks laughing Nadine stops and sits him on her lap
“I better get ready then” I say getting out of bed
“okay I will tell Jason your going round there for me and I will make breakfast” she smiles and carries Justin with her.
I have a quick shower and head downstairs and eat breakfast then I leave to go to Jason, I pull up outside his flat complex and enter I walk up the stairs and reach his door I knock twice and wait for the door to open, 2 minutes later and is does
“hello Kimberley” he says
“Hi Jason” I say and I walk into the flat
“how is she?” he asks
“she’s fine she is at home with Justin” I smile
“how is the little man ?” he smiles
“he’s doing good” I say he goes into the bedroom and comes back out with two bags which I’m guessing is filled with Nadine’s stuff
“thanks I better go” I say grabbing hold of the bags
“okay see you around” he says and opens the door for me I walk out and head to my car.
I get home 2 so it only leaves me an hour until Cheryl arrives I go upstairs and have another shower I curl my hair at he ends and I put a bit of make-up and then I’m ready and I’m still left with 10 minutes to spare I walk into the kitchen to see Justin eating some of the cake that e and Nadine made
“mummy does Cheryl like cake?” he asks me
“I don’t know baby when she comes round you can ask her” I smile
“okay” he says and continues to eat Nadine is washing up when she turns to me and smiles
“what?” I say
“your glowing” she says and raises an eyebrow
“am i?” I say and laugh I didn’t know I was
“yeah you are I haven’t seen you glowing since Justin died Cheryl must be special” she laughs
“I don’t know I mean I’ve known for what 3 days but i feel like I’ve known her forever I feel so comfortable around her” I smile
“well that good babes I’m happy” Nadine says The door bell goes and Justin runs off to the door he’s jumping up and down like an excited puppy
“open the door mummy its Cheryl” he says I open the door and then he runs out and hugs her legs
“oh hello pet” she says and kneels down to his height
“Cheryl!” he says and puts his arms around her neck she picks him and hugs him, she puts him down and then turns to me
“hey babes” she says and hugs me
“sorry about this little one he’s been waiting for you since I told him you were coming round he gets a little over excited sometimes” I say breaking away from the hug
“aww that’s okay I think its cute” she smiles showing off her dimples
“come through Nadine is in the kitchen” I say and lead the way to the kitchen we walk in
“hello Cheryl” Nadine says and hugs her
“hey pet how are you?” she asks
“yeah I’m fine you?” Nadine asks
“Aye I’m okay” Cheryl smiles
“tea?” I say to them
“yeah babes” Nadine says
“aye please” Cheryl says and sits down at the table as soon as she sits Justin jumps on her lap
“Cheryl do you like cake?” he asks
“yes I do chocolate is my favourite” she says
“yay me and Auntie Nadine made chocolate cake would you like some?” he says grinning
“oh I don’t know you will have to ask your mummy” she says and I smile
“can she mummy?” Justin turns to me with his big blue eyes
“yeah I don’t see why not” I smile he jumps down from her lap and gets the cake from the fridge but he cant reach it so Nadine helps him I pass Cheryl and Nadine their teas and I sit the table with Cheryl
Cheryl has been here for 2 hours now Nadine has gone in the living room with Justin
“Cheryl how did you know I lost someone that day by the river?” I ask
“it was in your eyes the eyes are the window to the soul they show the emotions that we want to hide” she says
“oh right” I say
“you have beautiful eyes” she smiles
“not like yours their so rich in colour their amazing” I say smiling she laughs
“do you have any siblings?” she asks
“yes I do I have 2 sisters and 1 brother you?” I ask
“I only had one sister that was Nicola” she smiles sadly I reach out a hand and place it on top of hers she gives me a dimpled smile Justin runs in the room at that moment
“Cheryl are you staying for dinner?” he ask sitting on my lap she looks at me and I nod
“aye I love too” she says
“I like you Cheryl and your have holes in your cheeks when you smile” he says causing both of us to laugh he reaches a hand out and touches one of her dimples
“their dimples pet” she says
“dim-poles” he says and smiles then he shouts
“Diney Cheryl is staying for dinner!” Nadine walks in at that moment and gets the shout right in her face she brings a hand up to her ear
“I’m here little man no need to shout” she laughs
“oh sorry” he says
“is pasta bake okay for dinner” Nadine ask I nod
“aye that great babes” Cheryl smiles and we all talk in the kitchen while Nadine is busy doing the food.
