Chapter 7- Why Did Mine Have to Be So Difficult?
Scott's POV-
Pain.
That was all if felt. She ran from me, almost rejecting me. Normally your mate is happy to see you and runs into your arms willingly, but not mine, she ran the other direction. Why did mine have to be so difficult? I stood there frozen once again, staring at the door hopelessly. But this time I wasn't going to lose her. I caught her scent and began running after her. She wasn't going to leave me this time. I wouldn't let her.
------------
The smell began to become stronger and I knew I was close. I caught a smell of blood and my heart began pounding. I ran twice as fast until I saw her, she was on the ground in wolf form, her body looking lifeless. My wolf roared in pain at the though, if you thought he couldn't handle her rejecting him then her dying is like hitting him with a bus... going 90 mph. As I came closer I noticed her chest moving up and down, she was still alive! I grabbed her, cradling her in my arms. The whole way back to my house, my eyes never left her face. I memorized every single detail of her wolf form.
-----------
Once arriving at my house, I gently laid her in my bed. I knew I had to wake her now, if she shifted back any later, the pain would be unbearable.
"Amber" I spoke softly, I felt the shivers down my spine as the words rolled off my tongue. She didn't move. "Amber, babe wake up" I said while slightly shoving her. Her eyes opened slightly. "Amber, you have to shift back now. The longer you wait, the more pain you will feel" she nodded groggily. She furrowed her eyebrows in concentration and let out a deafening scream as her body began to shift back. She appeared in front of me naked, but I quickly covered her. I was about to get up and use the guest bedroom across the hall, much to my wolf's discontent I might add, when her arms pulled me closer.
"Stay" she whispered her eyes still closed and dried tears. I didn't have to be told twice, I climbed under with her, my wolf fully content. I was starting to fall for this girl and she has only spoken one word to me. That could be dangerous but I quickly shrugged it off, wanting to cross that bridge when it came.
