Chapter 5- The Lie That Saved My Life
Amber's POV-
The footsteps grew closer and hesitantly, making sure I wouldn't run. Once their owners stood right before me, my body grew rigid. They stood there expressionless, analyzing my moves. Once they saw I wasn't going to put up a fight they grabbed me. I willingly let them take me, praying my wolf was right.

The two men were dragging me, and I mean literally dragging me, in the opposite direction of the restaurant to where the smell had disappeared.
"What's your name?" I asked the one with the steel grip on my arm.
"Josh" he replied with no emotion, only looking forward in the distance.
"Why are you doing this Josh?" I asked, adding a fake tear to make this impossibly hard on him.
"The Alpha demands to see you" he said.
"Please just let me go Josh! I promise I will be good, please Josh." I pleaded as if my life depended on it, and frankly it did.
"Doesn't matter" he said, his gaze never meeting mine. I had enough, so I put on the big show, I bawled my eyes out.
"Please Josh! Do you have a mate?" I asked, his expression softened showing that that was a rough spot. "Do you love her? Will you do anything for her? Well I have one at home and you are going to kill me, he never got to mark me or say 'I love you'! And now I will never have that, I will never be loved..." I trailed off slightly, giving it the full effect. Man was I good at lying. I looked into his eyes to see them filled with sorrow and pain, images of his mate undoubtedly flashing through his mind. Finally, his gaze tore from ahead and looked at Conner, almost asking through his eyes. Conner nodded at his unasked question, relief flooding through me. Their iron grips released me.
"Thank you" I shouted, letting out a breath, I didn't know I was holding. I turned on my heels and ran at top speed to retrieve my bag. If anything, I would only grab my dream catcher and jump through a window or something, I knew the others wouldn't be as forgiving as Josh and Conner.
That was a close one I thought, mostly to myself, but of course my wolf butt in.
Why did you leave? I wanted to go with them! I was completely confused by her words.
Why? You were the one that came up with the plan to talk them out of it, so I did. I said calmly, my temper threatening to explode.
I don't know she replied sadly, hating the feeling of confusion.
We came upon the smell of the restaurant and wolves. I dropped my bag at the door of my bedroom/storage room so I just have to get in and get out. Seems easy enough.
Man I really need to stop jinxing myself.

A/N
Okay I have to say it again, and I know you guys are getting annoyed with it.....
But I love you guys!!
68 reads!!!! I was hyperventilating and jumping around earlier, and just my luck, my mom walks in. Now she is asking me if I have been doing drugs or if I'm high... That just made me laugh even more, which caused me to keep getting this weird look from her. I just think it's hilarious... maybe I am high... I don't know, they don't explain what getting high feels like in school, yet they teach you how to inject marijuana and explains what it is and does, and then tells you not to do it! That is like giving a little kid a huge bright red button and telling him not to touch it or everyone dies... seriously! (But it's not like I plan on using drugs... lol)
Anyways.... Thanks again guys!
Love you,
-Amber
