"But we'll meet again, I promise"

Troye stood behind the counter, taking people's orders. Today was unusually not so busy. It's New York, it's supposed to be busy everyday; but Troye didn't mind.

Troye had finished taking a woman's order, gave her her change back as wrote her name down onto a cup.

-

"Hello, what can I get for you today?" Troye asked, taking a cup off the stack.

As the man began to say what he wanted, Troye took it down. At this point, Troye hadn't looked up to see the man yet, he only heard his voice.

Troye looked up to take a look at the customer. A familiar face appeared back at him.

"Connah?!" Troye's eyes widened as he looked at the man in front of him.

"How do you?-"
"Troye? Troye Sivan?!"

Troye nodded, walking around the counter and towards Connor. Troye flew his arms open, Connor gladly running into them.

"I missed you" Connor whispered into his old friend's ear. Troye returned the 'I missed you' as he hugged him tightly.

"What are you doing in New York?" Connor asked as he pulled away from the hug.

"I could ask you the same thing" Troye smiled. There was a moment of silence, where the two just stared at one another, smiling.

"Well, I moved here just to travel– and I ended up really liking it so I stayed, you?"

"Family. We moved here about last year, my parents always loved this place so they wanted us to move here. We all love it here"

"That's cool, how about when you're on your next break you can come chat with me" Troye nodded.

"Okay! Oh and your drink is $5.50"
Connor handed Troye the money, Troye giving him his change.

"I'll be sitting near the window." Connor said as he walked away.

Troye was now on his break and was walking over towards Connor.

"So how are you?" Connor asked

Troye replied, "I'm good, how are you?"

"I'm good thanks," Connor said taking a sip of his coffee.
"How long have you been working here?"

"Not long, maybe two– three months"
Connor nodded, "do you like working here?"

There was a pause, Troye chuckled quietly and looked down at his feet, then looking back at Connor. "Well i mean it's not the best job but it's okay"

Connor chuckled a little, "yea, I've had some pretty shitty jobs too" his coffee starting to get cold. "You seem nervous around me, why?"

Troye tilted his head slightly, "well I haven't talked to you in a while, it.. Weird," he laughed awkwardly "I don't know, it's just that things have changed I guess."

Connor laughed, pushing his cold coffee to the middle of the table. He grabbed the napkin that sat in front of him and pulled a pen out of his duffle bag, writing on it. Troye watched carefully, trying to see what he was doing.

Connor pushed the napkin towards Troye, Troye picking up the napkin and looking at it.

"Just in case you wanna still be friends, and go back to how we used to be" Connor spoke as Troye looked over the napkin. Troye looked up at Connor and smiled.

"I would love that"
