My brain was about to explode with all the thinking I was doing. I tried to convince myself that it was just a coincidence and two days in a row was a bit suspicious. It was no use. Wait. He said something about tomorrow. I knew him, and there was no way this could be considered as an accident. He had an ulterior motive -- which I had to find out. Hopefully, I'd be able to avoid him tomorrow.

"What do you think you are doing?" Pramodh, my manager, asked me, standing near my desk. He frowned looking at me, pushing his eyeglasses up. I realized that I didn't go for my apron and came directly to my desk. Sighing, I stood up and greeted which resulted in his scowling. He was bald and had typical looks of an old guy which made me hate him more because I couldn't say anything to him considering his age. He gave me a detailed lecture on how to behave as an employee and manage duties on time.

He hated me simply because I got this job instead of his nephew. Of course, the feeling was mutual. Okay. I had an excellent recommendation from Vihar's father. But it didn't mean that I didn't crack the interview like others. After all, I was the best student according to my college.

I looked around and realized that I was the only one who didn't even start the work. I scolded myself for not being careful around my manager.

"I will complete my work," I replied in a soft voice. If I raised my voice, he would make sure to make me look like an irresponsible person in front of all my colleagues.

"Okay." He left.

What happened to him? He never failed to pick a fight with me.

I turned around and realized that he was chatting with Sammy.

Sammy was Indo-American. She looked like a runway model, but she worked as my Team Leader. I never knew why she wanted to work here. Pramodh had a crush on Sammy. I couldn't help but shudder at that thought when I heard about it the first time.

I finished my work for the day and Riya, my colleague, was waiting for me near the steps. She was also about to get off work.

"Hey, are you leaving?" I asked.

She turned and smiled. "Yes, Madam."

"Come on then. Let's grab a snack," I suggested. I hiked my bag up on my shoulder and walked with her.

"Thank God. I am starving," she said, linking her arms with mine.

With that, we started towards the stairs to the entrance. I preferred walking than taking elevators.

"So, how is everything?"

"Same old story. My parents are suggesting, and my sister is opposing," I replied, thinking how good it felt to take revenge.

"That bad, huh?" she asked, nudging me in the shoulder.

"Don't even ask." I sighed, replaying the talk given by my parents.

"What about you?" I raised my eyebrows.

"Nothing much. I am dating nothing less, nothing more," she said, looking dazed.

"You don't mean it," I pointed out.

"What do you mean?" she stuttered.

Riya was beautiful with big eyes, light skin and she maintained her body well. And there goes without saying. She was tall. Her main asset was her eyes. She could make a devil obey her with just her eyes.

'"You know it."

"Ha-ha...Well, Arya has asked about you."

"Tell your boyfriend that he still owes me a treat. Then maybe, I'll think about it." I shrugged.
