Chapter 67: Sibling Tag

•The Next Day, 12 p.m.; Maddie's Bedroom•

~Maddie's POV~

I stared nervously down at my mom's phone number on the glowing screen of my iPhone 6.

Just click call and pressed the god damn phone to my ear. It's that easy. All I'm asking her is if I can visit her, Kevin and Connor.

Okay, maybe just mom and Connor.

I mean, at the same time I can't really hate Kevin; I don't even know much about him to hate him. I'm just being stubborn. Like Ally stubborn.

Without another hesitation, I clicked the phone number and pressed the phone to my ear; listening silently to the loud ring.

After about the third ring, static interrupted followed by my mothers voice.

"Madeline! Sweetie, how are you?" mom answered more happier than usual.

A lump grew in my throat.

I planned this out so perfectly and now, I have no idea what to say.

"Hey mom" I strutted.

"What's up?" she replied.

"Um, nothing much. Just hanging around the house and stuff" I stated nervously.

"Cool. You and Lachlan?" mom asked curiously.

"Good, we are both on the whole long distance thing right now" I sighed.

"Sucks. When do you think I can meet him?" she straightforwardly asked.

I was taken back by her direct approach.

"Um, we are both busy being YouTubers and stuff so I don't know. Very busy schedules" I reminded her.

"Okay okay" mom understood.

"How are you and Connor?"

"I'm great, Connor's great. He's making some new friends now and he seems really happy about the move" she announced proudly.

"That's amazing" I nodded mindlessly.

"When are you coming to visit? I miss you so much Maddie" mom gushed.

Here's your chance Maddie.

"Um, actually, I wanted to come with Mitch if that's okay with you. You know, a family reunion without dad. Not much a reunion but whatever" I proposed, shrugging.

She was silent for a second. "Yeah of course. Just you, Kevin, Marley, Connor, Kyleigh, Mitch and I for a few days. That is going to be awesome."

"Yeah, so I'll start looking at prices and then I'll get back to you" I smiled.

"I can't wait."

"Well mom, as I said, YouTubers have a busy schedule so I better start going" I stated.

"Yeah yeah. I can't wait to see your new video" she giggled.

I let out a laugh. "I'll look out for your comment. I love you. Bye!" I called.

"Love you too baby. Bye" she said before hanging up.

Letting out a sigh of relief, I flopped back down on my bed; staring up at the white ceiling.

This is going to be the best trip. I'm gonna get to know Kevin, we'll be best friends and I'll get over the divorce. Simple as that.
