“Don’t move.” The male voice spoke.

“Be calm and answer these next questions correctly or your life is over.” He said with a crackle in his voice. He was scared and didn’t want to be doing what he was trying to attempt.

“Do you have a car with gas?” He asked shortly after.

“No.” I was lying

“Why are you lying then because I know there is one in that garage?” He said firmly

“May I stand and face you so I can tell you to your face?” I asked trying to sound convincing.

I heard a female voice mumbling with his. He wasn’t alone was all that it told me. He must be trying to protect someone without trying to sound like he wasn’t protective. Finally the mumbling stopped and a slow response came from behind me.

“You tell us you have a vehicle and we will allow you to stand up.” The voice says very uncertain.

“Your right, there is a vehicle behind those doors.” I stood and turned to see a young African American with glasses and a young brunette girl holding two backpacks filled of what I was assure was just cans. The only issue at hand was he made one mistake he turned his head to speak to the young woman. That was my window.

I struck his arm to bounce his arm higher and bent his arm around to a point the gun back at him but the pain became too much and he dropped the firearm he once had pressed against my temple. I kicked the gun back and picked it up and shoved him towards his partner where they both raised their hands and stood before me frightened and scared as if they knew this was their last moment in life. He’s eyes widen and began to shiver in front of the gun I had pointed between his eyes as he stood before the young woman.

“Why would you try and rob me a random person sitting in front of his house?” I asked to get a simple response I wasn’t expecting.

“Look man, we needed a ride and with what’s going on we didn’t want to hurt you but just get the hell out of this city. Were sorry if you let us go we promise not to bother you again. We are just hungry and not sure what we are doing. I’m sorry I put that gun to your head man it was just we had no idea what to think when we saw another person.” He said so fast it was somewhat hard to understand.

At this point I was indecisive to what I wanted to do at this point. They seemed harmless and it was obvious about how easy I disarmed him that he has never handled a gun before. The young lady he was with looked like she has always had a pampered life and couldn’t hurt anyone. She had long brown hair and had a distinctive attractiveness to her that must have made guys falling for her with one look. I could see past it though and this having a gun pointed at these two makes me look like I’ve killed before. Mia would let them go, and  so should I. I took the bullets out of the gun and handed it back to him as he stood there shocked.

“If you need some wheels try three houses down. They always had a set of spare keys in their kitchen when I went over there.” I told the two. “Just do me a favor, be careful.” They both had a confused look on their face as they slowly inched down my driveway and walked down to the house I pointed out to them. The girl looked back every so often and gave me a look as if why would I just let them go. They went in through the garage and I finally walked back to my front door but I couldn’t open it. I just stood there with my hand hovering over the handle. Then I saw a hand that looked so familiar put their hand on my wrist and finally noticed the ring on the finger. I turned to see no one standing there.

I walked back down to the driveway and just sat down just about dead center. What the hell did I just see I closed my eyes to try to re imagine it and couldn’t remake the image in my head? Was I losing it? The only image that I could get running down my head is the first time I saw her walk into the restaurant with her friend. Mia wore this long black dress and high heels. She had a white headband keeping her hair out of her face. It was the moment I couldn’t imagine a more beautiful woman. They walked towards me and my friend that was with me at the time laughing and whispering to each other.
