"These two are good people and we were beaten by your people for being in the wrong place at the wrong time." I said to Mia awaiting an answer to explain everything.

"I know but there was a reason behind it Lucas." She cried a little and held her hands to cover her mouth. She looked over at my friends and had a confused look on her face. "Why are you even with these people anyways?" She asked now looking a little upset. She looked at me impatiently now having the attention of the others that were with her.

"They saved my life, they are the reason I'm here." I said as simple as it could be. I didn't want to sugar coat the truth about the situation. "Your note would have never been found if it wasn't for this person here." I put my hand on Brooke's shoulder and she gave out a little smile for the first time in forever. "And Mikal here, he convinced me that there is a chance you're alive and that there is still a life to be had." I finally stopped walking around them standing in front of both of them. Mia couldn't resist smiling when she looked at me and slowly moved forward and laid her hand on my arm. I stood here with my arms crossed just starring at her not fully knowing what happened to her she was very cruel and is now sweet as can be.

"Guys come over here and let these two loose. There was a big misunderstanding and go clear out Building 4 for them to stay there tonight." Mia said looking at me and trying to resist the urge to get closer. I wanted to hug her and hold her and never let her go. Those eyes she had were still the eyes that made me fall in love with her. The smile that looked so adorable that made me feel warm and with comfort whenever she was around. She rubbed her hand down my cheek trying to still feel if I was really here and then she pulled her hand away once some blood showed on her knuckle. I was shaking with anger or fear or maybe I was just extremely nervous. I stepped back having her arms not able to reach me and stood between both Brooke and Mikal. She looked at me confused again.

"What's wrong?" she asked

"I don't know, I guess I just need a minute." I said fully knowing that this moment should have felt different. She walked away from us and met with someone that was watching from a far and could see that the conversation they were having wasn't of an agreement but the opposite of that based on the commotion. Brooke after getting her hands free came over and gave Mikal a hug in front of me. We walked towards these two guys leading us towards a building that was I guess where Mia wanted us to be. I followed Mikal and Brooke fairly close but far enough behind so they wouldn't think I'm trying to invade there space. That's when I heard from the distance.

"Wait!" Someone shouted

I turned around to see Mia running towards me and then stopped in front of me. She then laughed and said "Where are you going?" and tilted her head at me kind of like a puppy when they hear a new noise for the first time. I looked back at her and couldn't really respond I just shrugged and shook my head back in forth. She took me by the wrist and I followed her to where she was taking me. People that lived here in their complex which had been most likely put together with random RV's and trailers they could find. They were whispering to themselves while Mia was walking and waving at them. We got to this old trailer where she opened the door and had me sit down with her on the couch that was in there. It was sort of nice and sort of old on the inside new appliances but had some kind of early 90's like furniture inside.

''How did you wake up and when?" She finally asked with a long silence before we both talked. I sat there rubbing my hands together just staring at the old blue green carpeting in the trailer unable to find a proper answer. She kept moving her head lower and lower to look at my eyes. It was weird my mind was filled with so much confusion but my body was filled with so much hate I couldn't really do much else. I stood up and she continued to sit down and I just paced back in forth in what little walkway I had. That's when the only question I could think had come up.

"What's going to happen with them?" I asked and she still starred off for a moment to gather her thoughts.

"They're going to be given new clothes a warm place to sleep and then get some grub later on at the gathering. Trust me, they will be fine." She said and then went stood up and started walking back towards the back of the trailer. She grabbed what was one of my old shirts she kept. It was my old Kansas City Royal's jersey that had my favorite player on it. She then walked back over and held it close to her then handed it to me. "It was the one thing I brought to keep my mind set on you every night." I then handed it back to her and she looked at me and walked back towards what I'm assuming was the bedroom room and smiled and shut the door.
