The Kazekage fought hard. That much was true. But Deidara wasn't an S-ranked criminal for nothing. But... Kōri seemed to realize that shinobi from a village acted differently then the criminals she lived with. She knew that much was true by the way that the Kazekage sacrificed himself to protect his village, rather than protecting himself, and letting his village get blown up.
Kōri decided that shinobi with a village to serve had something that the ninja of the Akatsuki did not. Shinobi from villages had loyalty to the place that raised them. She decided it was because they had something to protect.
They had relationships with people, good and bad ones. And the shinobi's lived with it. They didn't reject their teammates, or merely tolerate them. They worked as a team, and as a family.
It made Kōri wish that she could have relationships with team-mates. It reminded her that once again, her mother was wrong. Families aren't torn apart by too many ninjas. They're just... changed. Ninjas make new families. With their teammates, their sensei... Their village leader. Bonds run deeper in the life of a shinobi, she realized.
Oh.
She was crying.
Of course she would be crying.
Her teacher...
Her... friend...?
Was dead.
Sasori-sama... was dead.
Kōri giggled hysterically for a few minutes. 'Daddy, Mother, Willow, Yasu, Ryuu, Hana... Rin... And now Sasori too.' Kōri thought through her giggles, wiping her eyes. They were all dead. Just... Gone. Poof.
Why? ...Why?!
"Why does fate enjoy taking away those precious to me?!" Kōri screamed out, voice raw as she pounded her fist to the ground, ignoring the pain it caused. Her voice echoed around the cavern.
