Kori’s POV:

After I had shed all the tears I could possibly shed, looked up at my old home. Most of the paint had peeled; the wooden structure was leaning, as if it could fall over at any moment.

‘Tsuchi, could I use your powers to make my old home, new again?’ I asked.

‘Yes. I believe I can be of assistance there.’ Tsuchi nodded.

I stood and walked over to the structure, and gently put my hand against it.

As I channeled Tsuchi’s power into the building my mind kept replaying all the memories I remembered all of my siblings laughing and playing, Willow braiding my hair, playing hide and seek with my brothers… I remembered everything.

I strengthened the wood, renewed the rotting wood, and straightened the structure until it looked proper again. Then I walked up to the front door. I felt strange, like I was floating. I couldn’t feel my feet.

Feeling came back when I stepped on something that felt strange. I bent down and picked it up. It was the stone angel that hung on our door, covering in moss, barely recognizable.

“I almost forgot about this thing…” I whispered, opening the door.

I walked all around the house absently.

Then I reached the kitchen.

The table still stood there, rotting. I touched the table, restoring its beauty and life. I did the same to a chair and sat on it, my bare feet resting on the vine-covered floor.
