I was falling. I watched in horror as the ground got closer. I wasn't going to make it out of this alive, was I? I shut my eyes, preparing for the impact. When I hit the ground, it didn't hurt as much as I expected. It felt like I had just fallen from just a few feet. I sat up and looked around. I was surrounded by huge, towering trees covered in ivy, moss, and exotic mushrooms. I definitely wasn't in my aunt's woods, anymore. After I got over the overall shock, I realized that I had no idea what I was supposed to do next.

"Thanks Zoe," I mumbled. I opened the book to see if there was anything about this place in there. The "words" in the book were not legible. They were just scribbles. I threw myself onto the ground and closed my eyes. What was I supposed to do now!? When I opened them, something was standing over me. It was wearing what looked like an oversized red hoodie with a question mark. It had long shaggy red hair that was crammed under one of those aviator hats. It had the longest eyelashes I have ever seen, along with stunning purple eyes.

"Hi! Welcome to Faleya! Are you Kat Limon?" I scrambled backwards on my hands. I had already taken a literal leap of faith, my teenage heart couldn't take any more fright!

"H-how did you know?" I stuttered, trying to calm myself down before I had a panic attack.

"A crystal ball thing told me you were coming. It's this whole prophecy deal." I couldn't tell whether it was female or male, but it couldn't be human. First of all, it was floating! It also had two small fangs. It was probably a vampire and it was going to suck me dry! After a few seconds, I realized I was staring.

"Oh, the floating thing. It's normal for me," it said. "I'm Igg," it said and held out a hand. I reached up to take it but my hand passed right through. I flinched away. This was just too weird.

"Oh, sorry," it said grinning.

"So, what exactly am I doing here?" I asked.

"Well, that there book you are holding is needed here. It is like, a key. It opens and closes dimensional walls. You have to take it to The Gateway and close it up so the Nightmare Realm can't leak into Faleya. If it does, all of humanity, here and on Earth, is doomed."

"What?!" I exclaimed. "Why me? I don't know how to do any of that! Why can't you do it?"

"The key chose YOU, I have no say in the matter," Igg said flatly.

"Well you don't to seem to care!" I retorted, starting to panic.

"If you haven't noticed, I'm DEAD! It won't affect me either way," it shrugged. "Now, we need to go," it said and grabbed me by the wrist and we floated off into the woods.
