"Whair're arr'e you going?" Gabrielle quizzed.
"To the Black Lake," Lizzy prompted flatly.
"Again..?" Gabrielle raised a quizzical eyebrow as the girl grabbed a single towel and cape. "He practices thair're too you know.. You sur're you will bee alright?" When no response came she sighed. Her best friend and sister was never the same since the Yule Ball.
"Salut Gabbi!" Fleur greeted with a smile as she too grabbed a few books and other things as she quickly got ready to meet with their Headmistress Madame Maxime.
"Salut Fleur." The younger girl just sat down and sighed.
"Wot is wrong chere?" Came the older girl's soft spoken lyrics.
Gabrielle sighed, "She is going to the lake.."

The air was crisp and cold, and as much as I dreaded going into the murky pit, I had no choice but to go. Well okay I did have a choice, but I didn't really have peace. Ever since that talk with Viktor, how he kept raving about a letter I had sent through William and claimed it was a shotgun sort of marriage, I couldn't ever see him the same way again. And he even dared ask me to admit it, claiming he would forgive me so he could get closure. "That blasted troll.. What was he thinking!?" I jabbed my toes in a rock as I passed by the shore, and cursed under my breath. To my astonishment a familiar touch caught my arm before I stumbled into him.
Viktor's arm was hidden from the view of the students who were sitting on the forest side, and as the scene played out it looked as if we had a challenge exchanged. " You alright?"
Looking up as he quietly spoke, just narrowed my optics and glared, " Of course not!" I hissed a little louder than intended. I dared not look at Ron who I then realized was sitting with Harry and Hermione right across from us.
"What's the matter?" Hermione's voice rang out as Ron's fists curled. She then looked up to see her old friend Lizzy walk passed Viktor. The Belgian celebrity turned and smiled at her making her feel awkward and shy, so she quickly dropped her gaze into her books.
I turned to the right when I felt a pair of eyes staring, and caught sight of Harry grinning and waving. Still in a sour mood just nodded a greeting and walked much faster. "This place is way too crowded.." I scowled quietly. Finally at my secret spot I was able to relax. Placing my stuff on the rock, stripped away my blue uniform and hugged the golden egg close. I knew it must have had something to do with the lake since the design on the top was that if a starfish. Dipping my toes first, jumped out as it was pretty much still icy cold to the first touch. "Suck it up Izzy" I egged myself on. Within seconds I dove right in and splashed around trying to get my blood adjusted to the water.
"Ahh.. Finally.." I said to myself as I relaxed into my back and continued to just float staring up at the cloudy sky. "Mmhmhmhmmm hmm hmmmm taradadadadaaa," I started humming as I began letting my guard down. The air wasn't as windy now, and the water, almost lukewarm. Eyes closed continued humming the melody until I bumped into something solid. Looking up found I had swam into someone's back, her hair was quite long as well. Quickly raising myself to my feet, stood up and bowed an apology, "Sorry, sorry! I didn't see you there." The other fae didn't seem to budge, and kept her eyes to the center
The song I was humming soon enveloped me and I got spooked. The water's surface seemed so still, yet it carried an overwhelming presence now.. The voices sang from beneath the lake. Ripples broke the tranquil mirror and I dared not look on either side of my shoulders. Here in the shallow water I could make out the outline of fishlike fins.."...Mermaids..." I whispered. I felt my heart both skip in happiness and joy, and fear and uncertainty at the same time. I didn't know how to react, and so in reflex crouched low so that I seemed much smaller then them, " I mean you no harm.." I spoke aloud in my most sincerest, and humble tones. " I just wanted to figure the next riddle," I found myself explaining for no good reason, ".. And I figured the best place to think was here in this lake in the water.. I hope you will permit me to continue searching.." I asked again, my eyes focused on the rippling rings that formed underneath my face and chin.
When no one talked, I felt tense, and it was only when an icy wet cold hand rested atop my shoulder did I turn my line of vision to the fem's slender digits. The thoughts that raced through my head, were strangely quelled by the view before me. Daring not look up, followed the finger that soon pointed to a space in front of me, and with that said my audience took to the depths below once again, their song ringing from beneath the spastic mirror.

And with that mental note and message, I too held my breath and dove. I didn't really know what I was doing, it probably was the most stupidest and most dangerous thing I have ever done in my entire life up until now. Mermaids, weren't as sweet as the muggle born disney characters presented them to be.. In days of old, they prayed upon sailors.. Was I too enchanted and swimming to my impending death..?
No.. It couldn't be.. Dumbeldore wouldn't allow it.. He wasn't so cruel.
Even if I was the daughter of Tom Riddle.. "He wouldn't allow me to just die.. Right..?" As I echoed these mental thoughts I found myself re-asking myself.. " He wouldn't..Right..?"
