Fortunately the fire didn't touch anyone but it did melt some snow around the astonished and frightened children who had frozen in place with fear in their eyes as they saw the flames fade. Then Katara and Sokka slowly looked to their sister who's eyes were wider than the moon and were full of fear and confusion.
"MOM! MOM!" Katara started yelling running towards the igloo trying to get their mothers attention, while Sokka stared at Ylva who was still standing there looking at the place the fire she had made just moments before had disappeared, with so much fear in her eyes, before running to find their dad leaving the poor girl alone.
While Katara and Sokka where finding their parents to inform them what had happened black snow had started falling jolting Ylva out of her trance, she looked around for her siblings but couldn't find them and went to her family's igloo, seeing her mother inside with Katara peering from behind her watching rather cautiously.
"Ylva, Katara told me that you were playing with her and sokka when you suddenly fire-bended is this true?" Her mother asked when Ylva approached.
Ylva swallowed and nodded. "I don't know how it happened but we were playing Warriors. The teams were Katara and Sokka as the Warriors and I was the fire nation solider I was getting upset because I was starting to think that the teams were unfair when Katara hit me with a hard snowball and I just. Snapped. I don't know why but I punched the air and fire followed." She explained in a quite voice.
Kya looked at her for a couple of seconds before moving towards her daughter to give her a hug, but before she could embrace the child she noticed the black snow in her daughters hair that was hard to see and immediately recognized it as sooty snow, and panicked running out of the igloo and looking to the sky to see the black snow falling.
When Kya ran out of the igloo she left Ylva and Katara alone together and Katara immediately followed her mother outside. Leaving Ylva all alone, heartbroken, for she thought that she was the reason her mother and sister ran out not knowing that it was in fact the snow in her hair that had made her mother panic. The young girl started crying quietly and decided that she would go out the back way so as not to scare her mother any further.
As soon as Ylva was outside she saw a small frozen puddle of water and decided to try and practice her water- bending again to get rid of her sadness, but while she was trying to practice she failed to notice the person sneaking behind her and observing her.
After a couple of attempts she had finally made the water plash a little but then lost her focus when she finally noticed the man in red clothing watching and closing in on her. Before she had time to scream the man had already gotten to her and was picking her up and covering her mouth, Making it impossible to scream for help.
While the man carried her to the huge ship he and his comrades came in Ylva finally noticed the dark snow and saw men from her tribe and fire-benders fighting each other. She heard her mother scream "YLVA! YLVA WHERE ARE YOU?"She thrashed and kicked trying to escape, to scream for help, for her mom but she couldn't break free of the mans grip and was carried onto the ship and thrown into a tiny prison cell.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kya was looking everywhere for her missing child.
"YLVA! YLVA WHERE ARE YOU?" She screamed hoping for an answer from the girl, but she never received one.
The fire-benders started falling back after collecting a almost all of the water-benders but Katara, and as the ships started retreating from the tiny village Kya heard a faint cry coming from the last ship,"MAMMA!" and she knew that Ylva had been caught and that she would probably never see her daughter again.
The birthday feast was canceled, and Kya prayed to the spirits to keep her departed child safe if she was still alive. And that night she wept holding her two remaining children and husband close to her. And together the family grieved for their lost family member and soon learned to live without the child called Ylva.
