Ylva

Prologue

      Twins. The couple had had twins, and Kya and Hakoda were looking at the first twin, in Kya's arms with concern and panic while Kanna, Kya's mother, held the other twin. For the child in Kya's arms has not made a single noise since she has been born and it was very unsettling because although the baby was breathing, it was just barely and she was not crying like her sister. 

       "Why is she not crying? Why is she breathing like that?" Kya asked her mother.

     "I have no idea my dear, but it is most certainly not a good sign." Kanna said " I am afraid she might die is her breathing does not deepen and, she does not start making noise soon." 

    But as soon as she said that the couple and older woman heard a wolf howl a long sad tone, it was the song of a she-wolf who's cub has died, and Kya was almost tempted to join the she-wolf with the loss of her own child. But before the wolf finished its howl the newborn in Kya's arms stirred and took her first real breath and started crying, sounding a bit like the wolfs song, and the family rejoiced.

   "We should name her Ylva in tribute to the poor she-wolf who has lost her poor cub, but somehow brought life to ours." Hakoda said.

   "I like it. Ylva, yes I think that will do nicely, Welcome to the Southern Water Tribe Little Katara and little Ylva," Kya said, "Sokka say hello to your new little sisters." she said to the year old baby now being held by Hakoda. 

     Once the newborns were fed and cleaned, Kya put the two babies to sleep and drifted off as well. Hakoda and Kanna were not far behind after helping and watching the young woman.

    But little did anyone know that Ylva showing signs of living was not the only miracle that happened that night but also that when little Ylva finally started crying and was given her first full breath of life she was gifted some very special abilities by the spirits. And was given a very Special Destiny that would only be achieved by going down a very hard road.

   A/N: Hey! So I have decided to Start an Avatar the Last Airbender Fan-fiction and I think it'll be pretty fun to write.(Even though I SUCK at writing.) So ya I started thinking about this when I started re-watching it for the first time in 6 years, I hope you guys enjoy and if you don't well then feel free to NOT read it.
