where would we be without them?
You meet a wonderful person on the internet. Now think of all the possibilities...
You meet someone new on the internet and immediately you hit it off. You talk to your new internet friend, a lot and before you know it, you've co-created a special bond between the two of you.
You find yourself talking to them every free second of your day, morning and night. Automatically, find yourself waking up just a little bit earlier and going to bed just a little bit earlier, in order to have extra time to talk to your new internet friend. you open up to them and they actually listen to you. They respect you and actually make you emotional as to how far you can trust them. You continue talking, getting more attached day after day until you can safely call them your best friend. The day you exchange pictures of yourself is a very special day. It's the day you realise, that the wonderful person you're talking to over the internet is in fact completely real. You're overwhelmingly happy. A while later, you decide to video chat. You are so anxious as you have no idea how this person will react to talking face to face with you. You wait as the call connects and the second you see their face on the screen in front of you, your heart warms intensely. You both feel shy to begin with although the huge smile plastered on your faces prove that you are both enjoying it. You spark a conversation and you sit talking. You admire each other's accents and ask each other to say certain words, just to hear how they say it. You acknowledge all of their facial features, the way they do things and the way they say particular words. You both giggle over nothing, the sound of their giggle their music to your ears. when you look at the time after what you thought was five minutes, it had actually been several hours. ending the call to go to sleep being a very difficult thing to do but nevertheless, you slept with a huge smile on your face. The aspect of video chatting became a weekly tradition, the both of you very comfortable around each other. You goofed off, played little pointless games and laughed endlessly. After a particularly difficult/sad/scary day, being able to actually talk face to face to someone about it, brought you even closer together. being able to hear the words instead of read them, brought things to a whole new level. As usual one day, you called at exactly the same time as you always did but for the first time ever, they weren't there. You called several times, becoming increasingly more afraid that something bad had happened. Twenty calls later, they pick up and relief surges through your body. You feel slightly agitated as how happy they look considering you had been trying to reach them for almost an hour with no luck, until you see what they are holding in their hands. Plane tickets. To visit you. Immediately, the count down to meeting your best friend begins. Several weeks later, the big day arrives. You awake early, unable to sleep. You could recite their flight times off by heart because of how much you had discussed it. You talk to them right up until the moment they board the plane and can't talk anymore. Then it actually hits you that you are meeting them. Today. You put on your prechosen outfit and your prepacked bag, sprinting down the stairs. You travel to the airport, millions of butterflies in your stomach as you make your way to the gate in order to wait for your best friend. As soon as you see people exiting the plane, you look out for the person you've waited absolutely ages to see, the anticipation building inside you. Then you see them. In flesh. In person. Standing less than two metres away from you. You both pause for a second before running toward each other, throwing your weight into their arms. You both begin crying happy tears and whispering compliments to each other. You hold each other so tightly, never wanting to let go because for the first time ever you actually got to hold your whole entire world in your arms.
