Isaac's P.O.V
"Hands up here and here. Ball your fists like this."
I watch as Ronan raises his arms and stops right by each side of his face. Soon, I go on and correct his thumb placement, untucking it from his hand and making him wrap it around his fingers. It's best if he learns this, whether Stevens would like to believe it or not. He shouldn't be bullied because he's human. Sooner or later, he would have to learn this. No better time than the present.
"Spread your feet apart like this. Not too far, not too close."
He tries to go and throw a punch causing me to side-step and laugh. He tries again and again, me maneuvering away from him each time. Soon, he goes on and wraps his small arms around my waist trying to tackle me to the ground.
"Ronan," I laugh. " You're not going to take someone down much bigger than you with just your strength. Fighting is more about outsmarting your opponent when you do not have much power." I ruffle his hair. "Try again."
I am covered in dirt along with Ronan by time the sun sets. If anything the kid has a bit of an aggressive side. I see Stevens reluctance of this, but I am sure he will not do anything to harm any of the weres here unless it is absolutely necessary.
"Ronan."
He continues to lag behind me still breathing heavily. I bring him forward with my hand on his head causing him to try and shove it off of him. This little thing.
"Promise me something."
"What?" he mumbles angry with me still.
"Promise me you will not ever use silver against them unless they are threatening your life. Promise me that."
He pouted his lips and narrowed his eyes away from me.
"They're mean to me because I am different. Why can't I be mean to them back because they're different?"
I shake my head at this.
"Because they are your family now, Ronan. Do not ever harm them with that. Trust is hard to get but breaking it is near impossible to have again. Don't ever do it."
He looks at me with wide eyes.
"Promise me."
"... I promise."
Just as I open the door, Stevens walks pass. He stops, for a moment, and turns back around with kneaded brows.
"What were you doing, guys?"
"Learning how to fi--"
I cover his mouth.
"find things."
"Find things?" he questions with a smile tugging at his lips. "Such as?"
I blink a couple times.
"You're a terrible liar," he laughs and he walks away.
Never once had I ever been bad at lying. Shit, lying got me through most of my puppyhood. With him, I get tongue-tied and my words come out as nonsense. I could never lie to him. He knows this.
I look at Ronan pushing him inside.
"Goddess, if I get in trouble because of you."
"You get me in trouble all the time, tattle tale!"
I huff out and nudge his head away from me. This little brat, I swear.
"Well, you shouldn't have been foraging through the cabinets like a raccoon looking for some chocolate. He asked so I told."
