"DEVIN!" I shout, making the younger girl rush awake and fall off my bed. What is it with that girl and that hand on my boob?
"What?" She grumbles from the floor.
"That filthy hand is all over me!" I shout, watching her as if I am sticking dagger in her with my eyes. She just rolls her eyes as she stands up, rubbing her eye as she step into the living room and I follow her after jumping out of my bed.
"Why do you always have to do that?" I ask annoyed by it every time, but she just shrugs as she sits down on the couch, taking the blanket over her. It's still cold, I need to call someone to fix it.
After taking care of the heat issue, I sit down on the couch, but finding Devin sleeping. It's kind of funny to watch her. She wrinkles her cheek, sometimes, but still the look of her temple is awful. I shake my head to myself. Irritated that she let this happen to her. This young girl, just letting horrible things come to her, but some is not even her fault. She lost someone she loved with her whole heart. I can't see myself losing my brothers or my sister. It would have teared at me until the day I died.
"You're staring." Devin takes me by surprise and I feel my cheeks turn warm as I look away from her.
"Shy girl." She chuckles.
"I'm not shy!" I argue, but it just makes her laugh even more. I grab the blanket and hit her with it.
"You are so annoying." I say as I hit her one last time and find my way over to the kitchen for some breakfast. I listen to her laugh of me as I start to make some scrambled eggs. The sound of Devin's footsteps comes behind me, but then I stiffen as I feel her squeeze my butt as she walk past me to the fridge. I stand her frozen by what just happened, but as I turn. She looks at me with a smirk with a beer in her hand.
"What 'a! Devin! It's morning and you are too young!" I shout in frustration as I drag it out her hand in anger and put it back in its place. Then she grabs my butt again.
"DEVIN!" I turn to her in fury. She is still having that smug smile on her face.
"Stop touching me!" I yell, but she just stands there in front of me, trying to hide her laugh. I sigh as I push myself pass her to keep on making my breakfast.
"You," I jump in my place as she put her hands on my waist behind me.
"Are cute when you are angry." She whispered in my ear.
"DEVIN!" I shout as I push her away from me. She is grinning in front of me after she finds her footing. I move the pan from the stove.
"Devin, you need to stop there in no way in hell or heaven, I am going to end up in a bed with you!" I explain her for what feels like the hundredth time.
"And whys that?" She asks curiously.
"Well, for the first you are a childish, you are a...a..."
"A what?" She ask waiting for me to say what she is, but I can't say it, because it hurts to know what she does.
"Still waiting." Devin says and clench her teeth. I shake my head as I bite my lower lip to keep my mouth shut.
"Say it."
"No." I shake my head again.
"So you want anything but me?" She asks which makes me roll my eyes.
"Of course not." I answer annoyed.
"Then what do you want?" She wonders, narrowing her eyes, meaning she is confused.
"Someone that is lovable." I tell her and she nods.
"We have been down this path before." She sigh as her wrinkle her cheek. Something I think is adorable, when it comes to her, but just no!
"What do I have to do to make you like me?" She asks, more like pleading. My eyes widen with surprise.
"Why would you want me to like you?" I wonder, trying to make this into something else.
"Because I like you." My mouth almost droops open. I know she has said it before, but the sweet begging tone in her voice made my heart drop.
"Devin," I sigh.
"The only thing I can be to you is a friend, that's it." I explain her. She looks down on the floor, trying to hide the fact that I hurt her.
"I thought we already were friends." She says and I meet her blue, sad eyes. A little smile comes across my face that she thought we were friends.
"Yeah, well, I don't think friends, grab another friend's ass." I chuckle. Devin is struggling to keep her smile away.
"I'm not gonna stop." She admits, smiling. I should give her credit for her honesty, but it's annoying that she is going to keep on doing that.
"But if you want to be my friend, Devin, then you need to stop what you are doing." I tell her firmly, because I know that is the only way to make her listen to me for real. I smile she wrinkle on her left cheek, thoughtful. It's seems like she is struggling to change everything about her life.
"W-what do you want me to do?" She asks, unsure, but also a little scared. I am not sure if she can handle it, what I am asking for her, but it would mean the world to me if she stops hurting herself.
"I wish for the first that you stop," I shake my head of that awful thought.
"Doing what you do." I say and she narrow her eyes.
"How do expect me to get money?" She asks and clench her teeth in annoyance.
"I guess you have found some other way." I shrug. Devin rolls her eyes with a loud sigh.
"Fine." She mutter as she rubs the shaved spot on the side of her head. I have noticed that she does that when she is frustrated and irritated. It's kind of cute.
"I'm not done," I interrupted her from walking away from me.
"I want you to finish school," Devin's blue eyes widen.
"And try to find out what you want to do with your life." I tell her, setting my claims.
"All of this just to be your friend?" She asks, shaking her head irritated.
"You know, I didn't quit school because I was lazy. I quit, because I struggled, Andi." She looks down at the floor and I can see that her cheeks are a little red.
"I-I can't read or write probably, no one really bothered to help..."
"It's okay," I smile as I step right in front of her to put my hands on her arms.
"I will help you, Devin." I promise her, and she meets my eyes with an embarrassed smile.
"When did you drop out?" I wonder which just makes her cheeks turn even redder.
"Junior year." She shrugs, avoiding my eyes.
"Okay," I sigh a little surprised thought maybe she stepped out at senior year, but we can make it work.
"I can talk to the school and see what I can do. I don't know if there is a place for you at this time of year, but you never know. If there is, then you probably have to work hard to follow." I inform her and she nods, thoughtfully. She still seems unsure, but then rub her face with her hand unpleasant.
"Can't believe I have to go back to school. I'm nineteen, not sixteen!" She complains.
"That is what happens when you drop out, Devin." I tell her, which just makes her roll her eyes.
"I know, I know." She itches the side of her head again.
"I just feel stupid that I have to be in junior year at this age." She sigh as she shakes her head of herself.
"You are not stupid, Devin," She raises her eyebrow as if I am a fool.
"You might be an ass, but not stupid." I chuckle, which makes her smile again.
"Well, thank you." Devin rolls her eyes.
"I know you can do it, just have a little faith." I smile.
