Devin comes in the front door and it's late in the evening. Kelly is already asleep in the bed.
"I'm sorry." She says as she comes towards me, but I shake my head as I take a step back away from her.
"The couch." I just tell her and find my way into the bedroom. Lying next to the little girl that I spend more time with than my own girlfriend.
"Andi?" I turn to look at Devin standing in the doorway, calling for me.
"Get out." I whisper harshly and lay back down, but then Devin takes my hand in hers and I have but no choice to follow her into the living room.
"Devin, I am tired of you." I say annoyed as she turn to me.
"I know, babe, but..."
"No but's, just," I take a deep breath.
"If you don't put yourself together, then I'll throw you out of here." I tell and turn to go back into the bedroom, but Devin stops me with her hand on my wrist.
"Andi," She begs and sigh before I turn to look at her again.
"I am not cheating, I am not doing anything stupid. Why can't you trust me?" She wonder and I just shake my head.
"I'm going to bed." I say, but Devin grabs my hand again.
"I love you Andi," She pulls me to the couch and we both sit down.
"And," She looks through her pocket and hold a lot of money in her hands.
"What the hell, Devin!" I shout standing up.
"No, no, no" She moves up to her feet in front of me.
"Why do you always have to interrupt me?" She laugh, and I frown.
"I am not doing anything stupid. Gwen's father is a manger and one of his band lost their vocal and asked if I knew someone that could sing. Then I told him that I could, and well," She looks down at the money in her hand.
"Here I am." She smile. I bite my lower as I try to suppress my tears. Then I wrap my arms around her neck. Feeling the wetness come down my cheeks. I am just happy to know she is not doing anything that would break my heart or even her sister's.
"W-why didn't you tell me?" I ask and sniff.
"Because I wanted it to be a surprise," She snort.
"But things just got worse. I made the only people I love angry with me a-and..." I cup her cheeks and look into the gorgeous blue eyes.
"You should just have told us, Devin. But it's okay, I am just glad you don't do anything stupid." I chuckle and she smiles to me.
"I have earned a lot of money," She sound like as if it's only a dream.
"Enough to help to find a bigger place."
"Oh my god," I almost want to cry again.
"I love you so much, messy girl." I kiss her forehead hard. When I move back Devin seems a little confused.
"Did you really think that I was cheating on you?" She wonder and I nod sadly.
"I know that my past is a mess, but would never cheat on you, Andi. I love you, and even though I have never loved anyone before. I know enough that I could never throw it away." She say as I rub my eye and take a deep breath.
"I love you, messy girl." I wrap my arms around her waist to kiss her lightly.
"I love you too, shy girl," She laid her arms over my shoulders.
"But, I don't want to sleep on the couch." She says and wrinkle her cheek. I snort as I rest my forehead on her shoulder.
"You don't have to." I chuckle.
"Good, because I have missed,"
"Hey!" I shout as she just squeezed my butt.
"Your pretty ass." She smile, causing me to roll my eyes.
"Do you want to sleep on the couch?" I ask and she moves her hands off me right away. I raise my eyebrows in victory. Devin frown. I know she does not like to lose. I smile as I walk pass Devin on my way to the bedroom again. Then I feel a hard slap on my butt. I turn to Devin with my mouth wide open. She is standing in front of me pressing her lips together to avoid smiling.
"You are so sleeping on the couch tonight." I say. Devin eyes widen as I turn to walk to my bedroom.
"No, I'm sorry." She says, wrapping her arms around me from behind.
"I'm sorry." She repeat and kiss my shoulder. I chuckle low of her pleading.
"I want to lie next to you tonight and wake up with you in the morning. I want that for the rest of my life." She whispers in my ear and I can't help but smile to the sound of that.
"I want that too." I whisper back and she follows me hand in hand to our bedroom. As always, Devin lay down behind me. Now I don't even have to grab her hand. She knows just where to put it. Right over my hip.
"I love you, Andi." Devin whisper after she kissed my cheek.
"I love you too, Devin." I smile as I pull the little girl closer to me, but then she turns to me. I watch her surprised. She moves closer burying her cheek in my chest. I chuckle low as I hold her and kiss the top of her head. I fall asleep with warmth all around me, and the soft feeling of Devin's hand.
