I open my apartment door and the sound of music is the first thing that hits me. My eyes search for Devin, but then I see a bloody foot sticking out from the couch. I step over to her in a hurry. She is sleeping with her arm handing down on the floor with a beer in her hand. Her foot is bleeding, dripping on the floor. I shake my head in amazement of how someone can be so messed up. I turn off the music.
"HEY!" I shout as I slap her cheek, causing her to fall down on the floor, looking around in terror. Devin calms down as she sees me.
"What the hell were you thinking?" I yell as she try to get back up on the couch, but fall back on her butt. I shake my head of her foolishness. I grab her arm and help her onto the sofa.
"Just keep your foot up from the floor." I say before I try to step into the bathroom, but find a trace of beer and glass on the floor. Not just that, but more blood as well. I rub my temples with my hand as I look for a cloth to wash the blood away from her foot. This is the second time I do this. Devin is lying with her eyes closed, but it all change into growling as I take care of her wound.
"What the fuck!" She yells as she tries to take her foot out of my grip.
"Lay still!" I shout, but then decide to just sit over her legs to make her lay still.
"Andi!" She says annoyed trying to push me off her, but I keep my ground until the very end.
"Shit." I mutter as I see how really deep her cut is. I think there is some glass inside as well, which I cannot reach.
"It hurts." She whined as I get off her. I watch her as I rub my temples with a sigh.
"No wonder, Devin! It's a very bad cut with still some glass inside," Her eyes wide with fright.
"We need to go to the hospital to get it out."
"NO!" She argue, but I there is not point.
"We need to go." I say, feeling the tiredness in my body.
After a couple of hours of fighting and pulling I have finally managed to get Devin to the hospital. She is now sitting and almost screaming in pain as the doctor try to pull out the glass that is stuck in her foot. It hurts to listen to her, but most of all watching the tears that creep out of her eyes.
"There we go." The doctor says as he holds a piece of glass in his hand.
"You are lucky that your friend took you here." He says as he is making ready to stitch her up. I think I am going to pass out now. Devin mutters something as she looks at me with anger.
"Well, this is what happens when you steal my beer." I say rolling my eyes of her stupidity.
"Yeah, well, I wouldn't have done it if you didn't leave!" She shout, but wince as the old man start to stitch her foot. I narrow my eyes in confusion.
"Y-you didn't want me to leave?" I ask stunned, but Devin just look the other way as she tries to ignore me, and the pain.
"Devin?" I call her name lightly, but she just keeps on looking the other way. I get out of my chair and stand in front of her. She clenches her teeth uncomfortable.
"If you didn't want me to leave, then why didn't you say anything?" I ask softly, but for no use. I sigh as I find my way back to the chair. Waiting for the doctor to be done.
"Well, that was the last one," He says after a few minutes.
"But, you need some crutches so you can avoid walking on your foot, or the stitches will just open." He says as he stands up and step out of the room, probably looking for those crutches for Devin.
"Devin?" I call her name, but she still just avoids me. I can see that she is struggling to keep her eyes open. She is going to pass out if he does not come here soon.
"Devin!" I shout as I catch her before she falls down on the floor. I push her back up by her shoulder as I hold her up.
"Devin." I cup her cheek, but I can't reach her.
"Hey." I slap her cheek lightly, still nothing. I turn to look at the doctor as he comes in the door.
"I found these..." He stops talking as she notices that Devin has fallen to sleep.
"I can't wake her." I sigh.
"Wait here." He says and I do so. I smile as he comes out with a wheelchair. We put her down and I start pushing her down with the crutches under my arm.
Thank god, that Devin woke up a little as we came down to the car or I wouldn't have gotten her in and out of my car. I am just happy the doctor gave me that wheelchair.
"Hey, hey!" I say as I see her fall forward and I rush forward to push her back up.
"We are home drunk ass," I tell her as I cup her cheek. She open her eyes barely
"Now we just need to get you on the couch, can you try to help?" I ask. Devin nods lightly as her eyes close again.
"No, no, Devin." I hit her cheek carefully to wake her up.
"Come on." I say as I drag her up and she stands on one foot. We stumble over to the couch and she falls right down to sleep.
"You are such a mess," I smile as I drag the blanket over her. I chuckle softly as she wrinkle her cheek.
"A beautiful mess though." I brush her hair away from her cheek. Before I head into my bedroom and collapse down on the bed. I am so exhausted. She really knows how to take my energy. Still, there is a lot to do tomorrow. She has made such a mess. It looks like there was a big party in there. Broken bottle, beer and blood on my floor.
"Messy girl." I mumble in my pillow.
