Ermac was ready to fight. He and Kenshi Takahashi had been training for the Mortal Kombat tournament all week. They knew that they couldn't fight together, so they trained together as if the tournament had already begun. "Our first fight of the Mortal Kombat tournament...is Johnny Cage vs. Ermac!" Shang Tsung announced. "We are many but you are one. Your abilities pale before us!" Ermac said. "I'm about to direct your death scene!" Cage said. The battle began, and Ermac went on the offensive, attacking Johnny with his telekinetic abilities. Johnny was somehow able to avoid most of the attacks, then hit Ermac with a Shadow Kick. Ermac popped up and said to Cage: "You are pathetic. Your Shadow abilities will not be enough to defeat us!" Then, Ermac started to float, then suddenly flew headfirst into Johnny's head at astonishing speed, caving in most of his skull. Ermac then flew back up, and kicked Johnny's neck, breaking it and knocking him down. Then, Ermac flew back a bit, then up and back down, stomping on Johnny's head and caving it in more. Johnny got back up and punched Ermac in the testicles, making Ermac hunch over and wince in agony. "You got Caged!" Johnny yelled out. Ermac recovered, used his telekinetic abilities to have Johnny floating upside down, then forced Johnny into the ground headfirst, dazing him. "Finish him!" Shang Tsung called out. Ermac used his telekinetic abilities to pick Johnny up, bend him in half, quickly unbend him, and fling him into the wall. "Ermac wins!" Shang Tsung announced.
