a girl

She was a girl who could do nothing right
She was never enough, and was never alright
Every day in her life was a war
Her fragile inside and her heartstrings were sore
She always fell short, was never enough
She was way too nice, she
needed to be rough
Her hair was too boring, her body to tall
She pushed her friends out, and built up a wall
To isolate her from the hurt and the pain
To shield her from thunder and all of the rain
Nobody knows that she's fading away
No blacks and no whites: her world is just grey
She lost her best friend on this very day
All hope that she had in her soul has decayed
And now she is giving up on it all
She's tired of the fight, tired of the brawl
She's accepted the fact she'll never be great
The girl's just a mess: a human mistake
She can't even breathe; her lungs wrench with hurt
Can't bloom where you're planted when you're only dirt
She'll never be something, she'll never succeed.
Why in the world can't she be a seed?
The tears have extinguished the light in her eyes
She is just a reject, a likely surmise
