"You're on your knees, beggin' please, stayyyy with meeeeeee!!"
I continued to scream at the top of my lungs the lyrics to What The Hell by Avril Lavigne as I parked the car at a rest stop on the highway somewhere in New Jersey. Since I was in a good mood, after I parked I smiled at the dogs that wondered the grassy area with their owners. They were so cute! I turned off the radio and got out of the truck and headed towards the building. I bought a map of the North East and South East regions of the U.S. and a couple bags of candy.
"Oh yeah! Cotton Candy in a bag!" I cheered when I saw colorful bag calling to me. I grabbed multiple bags of them and ran to the cashier. He grinned at me and flipped his curly blond hair.
He chuckled. "Quite an appetite you got, here. " he said with a clear Jersey accent.
Making a quick decision, I had a good enough mood to mess with him.
I slammed my hands down on the counter, surprising the boy. "What?! ARE YOU CALLING ME FAT?!"
He blinked a couple times and seemed to get the fact that he somehow insulted me. "N-no! I was just saying that that a lot of food for someone as small and cute as you!"
"OH, NOW YOU'RE CALLING ME SHORT?!" I screamed.
"No, I-"
"WHAT AM I, A BARBIE DOLL?!" I snatched the plastic bag and turned around at the sliding doors. "And by the way, I'm so not your type." Then I stormed out of the place and towards my car, barely managing to keep a straight face. Once I got to my car, I shut the door and immediately burst out laughing.
I decided to drive all the way to Roanoke, Virginia, which took around eight hours. I was exhausted when I drove into the woods, searching for a motel or something to spend the night at. Just as I was about to give up, I noticed a small log cabin in the distance. I pulled up to it, walked up the creaky wooden steps, and peered through the window. No one seemed to be in, so I jiggled the door nob. Locked. Damn. I got back in the truck and locked the doors, deciding to just sleep here til I could think of a place to stay. I opened up a bag of cotton candy and munched on it.
"Ah, this stuff sucks," I mumbled, but continued to eat the nasty food. After I'd eaten two bags I fished a blanket out of my duffel bag and threw it over me, and laid down to sleep.
I picked up speed as the breathing got heavier behind me.
Got to run. Got to run. . .
My bare heels dug down into the rough dirt.
Jump!
I just barely dodged a stuck up root. The breathing got closer as I started to slow down.
Can't. . . Can't. . .
I tripped on a large furry thing lying on the ground. I looked over at it to see four giant golden eyes staring down at me. The thing I tripped over must have been one of the others' pack.
I stared in horror as the wolves growled and barked right in my ear. The last I remember was looking deep into the first wolves eyes, starting to feel less scared.
Then the second wolf lurched its' fangs forward.
My own piercing scream woke me up from the frightening dream. After I realized it was my own voice, I stopped screaming and just started panting. I was still in the truck. No wolves. No fangs.
