*Medea POV*
It was three days into the beginning of the school year, and I was already annoyed of my roommates. I had the privilege of rooming with two of the most talkative girls in the entire school. Pandora would ask the most bizarre questions, which was so sad because if she learned to keep her mouth shut she might actually have the chance at getting someone to notice her in a positive way. However, Echo was just as bad. I don't think that girl knows how to shut up, because she loves to talk my ear off and make a comment about every little thing. I would always find myself picking up and leaving to work in the nearest coffee shop so I would be able to hear my own thoughts. I always went to my usual spot in the back corner where the doorway and counter were just in view.
Part of the reason I loved coming to Colchis Coffee was the quiet. The other reason was because of Jason. Jason was one of the baristas that worked at Colchis Coffee. He was also Student Coach of the football team. I constantly found myself getting distracted. But trust me, there was something to get distracted about. Jason had shoulder length dark blonde hair that he would wear up whenever he was working. His brown eyes sparkle just like his smile. I could tell he would put every ounce of his happiness into every customer he would serve. I couldn't help, but admire him.
"Hey beautiful. I couldn't help but spot your precious little head from outside the window." Hyperion. He would never leave me alone especially, because I had dumped him back in seventh grade. Now he went to Olympus Prep, where he was part of a large gang who called themselves the Titans. Now he would get whatever chance he could to try to give him a second chance. I never saw anything in him. The only reason I had gone with him was to rub it in Theia's face that he was in love with me. That was until I found out from Hyperion's sister Rhea that he had gotten Theia knocked up. He had told me he regretted it and that he was still in love with me, but I left him.
"What do you want Hyperion?" I spat. I glared at him, trying to put poison into my glare. It didn't seem to phase him, because he slid into the booth next to me.
"Honey, I have given you your space. And I have been patient, trust me I have been patient. Could you please just get back together with me. I promise you, you won't regret it," he pleaded. I looked at him angrily. I didn't want to be with him, and it was getting on my nerves how pushy he was being.
"Sorry Hyperion. I'm not interested," I said. I turned back to the homework I had started working on. I heard a sigh escape his lip. Out of no where I felt myself being grabbed by the shoulders and turned to look into Hyperion's fiery gaze.
"Maybe I didn't make myself clear, my darling. I want you to know how much I want to be with you, but you just don't want to listen," Hyperion whispered. He slowly moved his hands off of my shoulders. One moved down my body all the way to my waist while the other moved to where my jaw met with my neck. I tried to move my face away from him, but he just moved it back. I couldn't move as he began kissing my neck, biting at the skin around my ear in a forceful yet affectionate way. My eyes started to well with tears as he began to move his other hand under my shirt, gently stroking up and down my spine.
"Hyperion, please stop," I whispered, trying to hold back tears.
"I'm sorry, but this is the only way I can prove my love to you." He moved his lips from my neck to my lips roughly kissing them. Tears started pouring down my face making the rough kisses salty and bitter.
"I everything alright over here." I opened my eyes to see Jason holding a dishcloth. Hyperion strengthened his grip on my neck as he smiled.
"We're just fine," Hyperion answered. I looked at Jason desperately for help. We locked eyes for a moment before he returned his gaze to Hyperion.
"I don't think she wants you doing that," Jason said.
"She never said that. Now get lost before I call your manager," Hyperion seethed.
"Please sir, if you would kindly keep your hands to your self we can all get along just fine," Jason said, calmly.
"I said get lost," Hyperion countered. His nails began to dig into my face, and I squealed in agony. Hyperion turned to look at me, dropping his hands away from me. He got up and stood. "There, you see she's fine." Hyperion started to walk away before he turned, jumping onto Jason. They both landed to the ground, Hyperion on top of Jason. He punched his face, alternating between hands. I ran over to try to pull Hyperion off.
"Leave him alone," I screamed. All I did was make Hyperion angrier, because he moved his arm which sent me falling to the floor. Management finally arrived, pulling Hyperion off of Jason and ordering him to leave. Reluctantly Hyperion left, but not before he looked me in the eyes and smile, a dirty, sickening smile. As soon as he was gone, I ran over to Jason who was being consulted by his manager.
"Jason are you okay?" I asked.
"Yeah I'm fine. That whole fiasco just gave me the rest of the day off," he laughed, then wincing at the pain.
"Would you mind if I walked back with you to school. I don't feel safe with Hyperion around," I asked.
"Ah so that's your boyfriend's name," Jason said.
"Hyperion is not my boyfriend. He was just a mistake from my past," I answered.
"Well I would be glad to have as beautiful a lady to walk back to campus with," Jason said. He extended his arm, which I took willingly.
"I guess it would be wrong if I didn't thank you," I said.
"Its no big deal. I was just doing what needed to be done. It looked like you were in a very uncomfortable situation," Jason replied.
"I don't know what came over him. but what ever it was I'm thankful for it," I said.
"And whys that?" Jason asked, smugly.
"Because now I get to share the rest of the afternoon with you," I answered. Jason smiled.
"I wouldn't have it any other way."
