*Andromeda POV*
For the first football game of the year I promised Io would go. I was excited to see Perseus, since he hadn't been responding to my texts recently. I was worried something happened to him, or worse that he had heard something about my last relationship. I hoped to tell him myself after we got to know each other more, but if someone had beaten me to it he might not want to talk to me.
"Can we go yet?" Io pleaded. She was hoping to get there early to see if she could talk to Zeus, and I didn't want to rain on her parade by being late.
"Yeah, just one last thing," I said, applying a a thin coat of cherry chap-stick over my lips. "Okay let's go." We left the room, walking out into the evening air. The field was within walking distance, but we moved to a quick pace without exchanging any words. We got there at a good time, because the ticket line was short. I went up to purchase our tickets while Io scanned for good seats. She found some on the other side of the field towards the top. We both saw Zeus at the same time, who ran over quickly.
"Hey guys. I have to make this fast, Io can I talk to you real quick," he asked. She nodded and took his hand, as he brought her over somewhere private. I took my seat and saved Io's. I watched as she came running over, a smile plastered across her face.
"What he say to get you so giggly?" I asked.
"He wants to meet under the bleachers during half- time. It's the only time he doesn't have to be on the field and he said he wanted to tell me something important!" Io squealed. I squealed along with her. Soon the game started, but we were to busy talking. I scanned the crowd for Perseus and saw him over by the snack line.
"Hey Io. Do you want a snack? My treat," I asked.
"I would love a popcorn," she replied, her eyes glued to Zeus. As I got up, I nudged her in the arm.
"Don't stare too hard. He's on the opposing team remember?" I laughed. She blushed, but didn't avert her gaze. I made my way down to the line, where I squeezed behind Perseus.
"Hey stranger," I whispered in his ear. He turned around a confused look on his face. I smiled when he saw me, which just made him scowl. "Are you okay?" I asked, rubbing his arm. He jerked away from me, his scowl deepening.
"I'm fine," he growled. I was taken aback. Someone must have talked to him, otherwise he wouldn't be so angry.
"Did someone say something about Poseidon? Because I want you to know he is in the past-"
"Poseidon! What were you doing with Poseidon?" he asked, angrily.
"I haven't done anything with him in forever. What are you so mad about then?" I asked.
"What am I so mad about?! I'm mad that you talk to me like I matter, and treat me like you care, but then you find it to be easy to go and make out with Dionysus," he exclaimed. I was taken aback. I had totally forgotten about Dionysus.
"Perseus, he doesn't matter to me at all. I was just drunk-"
"You were drunk!" he yelled. I put an arm on his shoulder.
"Can we move to a more private area. We're starting to make a scene," I asked as gently as I could.
"Fine." I led him over to an area of trees that offered a little bit more privacy. I looked at him, my eyes watering.
"You can ask me anything you want. I have nothing to hide from you," I whispered.
"Did you really mean anything of what you said to me?" Perseus whispered, putting his forehead on mine.
"Of course. You are important to me now. I don't want to break the little thing we have. I want to see what it can become," I whispered.
"Then I need you to promise me something, and you have to mean it because I'm not going to waste my time on someone who doesn't really care."
"Anything."
"I need you to promise that from this point no more secrets. And no more drunkenness," he asked.
"I promise." With that he put his hand in mine.
"Let's go get those snacks then," Perseus said.
"That sounds perfect."
