*Jason POV*

I was so late. My alarm didn't go off, so I overslept. Narcissus and Actaeon had already left, leaving the dorm in total shambles. I ran around the room, throwing on the first clean shirt I could find and combing my fingers through my hair so it would look somewhat presentable. I gave one more sweep of the room, remembering to pick up my notebook and pencils last minute. I ran out to the vending machine and got myself a protein bar for the go. I ran out of the Athens dorm, making my way towards school. When I got there , two of my best friends were waiting. Zetes and Calais are identical twin brothers, with buzzed black hair and dark blue eyes. Zetes smiled when he saw me, and Cal sent me a smirk.

"Look who decided to show up today," Zetes said with a laugh. Cal gave me a knowing look. Of the two of them Zetes did most of the talking, while Cal only spoke when needed. But that didn't make either of them less intimidating. They both had large shoulders and burly arms due to the workouts they went through as linebackers. They flanked my sides as we headed to Ms. Harpy's gym class.

Most people who loved gym, hated Ms. Harpy. She was mean and was very protective of all her supplies that we rarely got to see any equipment besides a beat up soccer ball, and a half flat basketball. We ran onto the court, already seeing everyone else dressed and stretching. When we entered Ms. Harpy glared at us, her beady eyes squinting at us, making her look like a toddler pretending to sleep.

"Why are you late?" she asked, licking grease off her lips.

"Late start in the morning," I replied.

"Go get changed, all of you. You have delayed us enough already," she said.

"Yes m'am," I answered, giving her a little salut.  She must have appreciated that, because she stopped squinting her eyes. Cal, Zetes, and I ran into the locker room to get changed.

"That was close. Whenever we arrive late by ourselves we always get a detention, but with you around she doesn't even care," Zetes said, changing into his uniform. Cal nodded in agreement.

"I don't know why. People just trust me, I guess," I said.

"You know, teachers aren't the only ones who allow you to get away with anything," Zetes said, a sly smile sneaking onto his lips.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked.

"Oh I don't know, maybe it has to do with your girlfriend Medea."

"Medea isn't my girlfriend. I never even thought of her like that. She knows we are just friends, which makes it easy to be around her. There is no pressure," I answered.

"Are you sure Medea agrees with that?" Zetes questioned. I looked away. The more I thought about the more unsure I became. Medea and I were just friends right? I ask her to hang out because I need her help, not for any other reason, right? I ran my fingers through my hair.

" I don't know?" I admitted.

"Well you may want to figure that out before you lead Medea on," Zetes cautioned.

"You think I'm letting her on?" I asked, a bit taken aback.

"Just think about what I've said okay. If we stay in here any longer I think Ms. Harpy will blow a fuse, even for you," Zetes said.

"You guys can go, I just need one more minute." They both nodded and left as I sat down on one of the locker room benches. I would have to ask Medea some things, and try to figure out what was going on. I'm sure she is on the same page as me.
