Grace's POV

"God Grace, you're so hot." Brody said as he started trailing kisses down my neck.  His hands moved down to the hem of my shirt and started to lift it up.  I then came to my senses.

"Brody wait, I'm not ready for this.  Maybe we should just wait a bit." I said with a convincing tone.

Brody hesitated a bit before answering.
"Yeah sure whenever you're ready." I could sense something was off with him but I decided to let it slide.

"Oh uh Grace, I actually have  somewhere to be so you should um, probably get going." Brody didn't make direct eye contact with me the entire time that I was leaving his house.  I was at the door about to leave.

"I'll see you later Brody, I love you" I said with a small smile as I leaned in for a kiss. He turned his head to the side so I kissed his cheek.

"Yeah okay, bye." was all he said before I exited his house.

I was on my way over to my friend Jade's house because I now had no plans today.  Brody had been acting weird lately, he always seemed to have something better to do when I was around.  I decided to ignore that thought as I pulled up to Jade's house.  I knocked on her door praying that she was home.  The door whipped open and to my surprise, Jade wasn't there.  It was a random guy that I had never seen before with just some sweatpants on.

"Um hi there, is Jade around?"

"Yeah she's just getting changed, come on in." the mysterious guy said.  He seemed so casual about this, when it wasn't even his own house.  It was obvious as to what had happened before I showed up and, honestly, I was happy that Jade was actually meeting new people, even if it just so happens to end this way.

"So, who are you?" I asked, curious to know who this handsome guy was.

"Oh I'm Jack, just a friend of Jade's, who are you." I internally laughed at how he said they were just friends, when anyone with a pair of eyes could see that the two had done other things that people who are just friends wouldn't do.

"Well I'm Grace, I happen to be her best friend." I stated.

Just then I saw Jade run down the stairs, looking great as always.

"Oh, hey Grace I didn't know you were coming over!" Jade said excitedly

"Oh, hey Grace I didn't know you were coming over!" Jade said excitedly.

"Well I was at Brody's house but apparently he had other plans, so now I'm here.

"Ok that's cool, well Jack was just leaving, right Jack." Jade looked over to Jack with a suggesting look, hoping he would get the message that she wanted him to leave.

"Oh yeah, right, I'll just go grab my shirt." Jack rushed up the stairs out of sight.

"So, this Jack guy, he told me you guys were just friends. You guys don't seem like you guys are just friends to me." I smirked at my own words.

"Oh shut up, so what,I got some action last night. No need to get all sassy."

I laughed at her comment, which seemed to be a Jade thing to say. Jade was a very confident person, she would always talk to everyone and she would always make friends. I had trouble with making friends back in elementary school, which is why I'm so confused as to why Jade would want to be friends with a potato like me. We met back in second grade, we were in the same class.

FLASHBACK

"Guys look Grace is playing in the corner all by herself, she's so stupid."
John Murphy, a mean bully, had said to me. His remark made him and all his little friends laugh at me, causing me to tear up.

"Hey John, leave her alone!" I heard some yell. I looked up and saw, Jade, a girl in my class who I had yet to meet.

"What are you gonna do about it Jade, huh? Are you gonna beat me up? As if you could!" John shouted, scaring me half to death.

Suddenly Jade ran over to John and punched him right in the stomach. I sat there with a shocked look on my face, too scared to say anything. John had stumbled back a bit, it was clear that he had just got the wind knocked out of him.

"You're gonna pay for that Cadwell!" And with that, John ran away.

"Hey are you ok, those boys can be really mean sometimes." Jade leaned down and held out her hand, gesturing me to take it so she could help me up.

"Yeah I'm okay, my mom says they just pick on me because they think I'm cute, but I think boys are gross." I said with a small smile.

"Well I'm Jade, what's your name?"

"I'm Grace."

FLASHBACK OVER

Jade had been my best friend ever since that day and I'm so thankful for that. Without her, I wouldn't have been able to come out of my comfort zone and make some of the friends that I have right now.

"Okay, so I'm assuming you want to watch a movie and eat junk food?" Jade asked.

"You know me so well."
