Breath

Skyler's pov

I woke up to someone shaking me and Bree's frantic voice. "Skyler wake up! Something's wrong with Lily! She's not breathing!" I opened my eyes immediately and looked at Bree before getting up and going over to Lily's bed. I was panicking at the still chest of Lily. "Oliver! Ka..." I stopped as I saw it. Lily's chest slowly rose and fell before becoming still again. "Oh thank god." I whispered. I turned to Bree. "It's okay. When she sleeps her breathing slows a lot more than ours. It's almost like she hibernates when she sleeps." Bree slowly calmed down. "Oh." "One question. Why were you awake to notice how slow lily was breathing?" "I heard something. Like a bellow. It was faint but strong." My eyes widened. "Oh weird. Let's check that out in the morning." She nodded and we went back to bed only to wake up 2 hours later. "Morning." "Morning." I replied to Lily. I got up and remembered earlier. Bree looked at me and I looked over at Lily. "Bree heard something last night and I think it has something to do with 'you know who'." Lily looked at Bree and nodded speeding up with getting her stuff. "Where?" "I'm not sure. The roof maybe. Can you please tell us what is going on!" Lily looked at both of us and we were in the hall when she explained. "Flare was like his father and comes when me and the team go on missions. He also comes when one of us is in danger. She said running through the hospital to the Mighty Med elevator and pressing the button to go to the roof. "What? Why are you so worried that I heard a bellow?!?" "Any dragon will usually only make itself heard to it companion. In this case the team. Dragons only make themselves publicly heard if there is a real threat. The doors opened to the top floor and Lily took of down the hall before Bree and I could register what happened. Bree super sped to catch up and I just ran my heart out to catch up. I met them on the roof. Bree was awestruck and Lily was just staring into the eyes of the dragon. It was a multicolored dragon at the moment where every color you could think of crossed his body somewhere. He looked at Lily for a while and he turned the colors of fire. From white to dark red and black. He turned his gaze on Bree and I rumbling something from his throat. Lily responded with a tumble of her own. She smiled and went up and hugged him. I smiled to happy that she was happy. Flare looked up at us and nudged Lily towards us. Lily put her hand on his snout and put her head above it. She took a step back not breaking his gaze. He took a few steps back to the edge of the hospital and sprang into the air. As he lifted off an uneasy feeling was in the air. As Flare gained a little hight a bang ripped through the air. Flare dodged and shot through the air away from the city while the three of us ran back into the hospital. Oliver and Kaz met is on the main level outwardly showing their fear. I looked at my feet to realize I now had a panther at my feet fur bristling. I put my hand in between her shoulder blades. She relaxed but stayed alert.
