Kickin it with everyone

Maddie's pov

"I'm so glad your home." I said as the spotted cat jumped down turning human so I could hug her. "Me too." She whispered hugging me back. "Should I get everyone else?" She looked up into my eyes and paused to think. "Joey, Parker, and your dad know I'm here. I want to surprise everyone else." I nodded a smile forming on my face. "What if you just come into the living room? It would still surprise them." Lily smiled and nodded. "Yeah." I let go of her to climb down and looked at her once more, smile and go back into the house. I went into the living room to the others. I walked over to where Kim was and sat down on the couch next to her. "Hey." I looked over as the door creaked open and the room erupted in greeting for Lily. When Kim saw Lily she threw her arms around her cousin and she hung there for a few minutes as Lily supported both of them. When Kim finally let go everyone else got a hug. Everyone made their way into the kitchen where Lily had brought all the different fruits. We were all smiling and talking. I grabbed two rambutan and walked over to Lily. "How do you open these?" She smiled taking one from my hand. "Like this." She pressed the fruit in her hands until a small pop sounded from the skin. She put her fingers in the tear and pulled the top half of the skin off to reveal the center of the fruit. She handed it to me and I popped the fruit from its skin and into my mouth.

It had been two days since Lily came back and she told us the whole story. All of us started to settle down. It had been a weeks after Riley, Maya, Lucas, and Farkle went home. I was sitting on the couch with Kim on my left and Lily leaning on Kim's chest watching a basketball game. There was a rumble that shook the couch for an instant. It was sudden and it was quick to disappear. Lily sat up, her eyes seemed to be glossed over with a brown shine. She blinked and it disappeared. Kim glances at her cousin before getting up and dragging her upstairs. Kim came down a lone a few minutes later and explained that Lily didn't know why there was a shockwave. It might have been caused by a facility or person. She wasn't sure but she was going to figure it out.
