Omniscient...
"Mommy, can I have gum?" Zoelle jumped in Camila's bed as Camila got ready to go open the front door for Brianna.
Camila chuckled and scooped her daughter up into her arms, attacking her face with kisses.
"Mommyyyy, noooo!" Zoelle giggled while struggling to push her mom away.
Camila put her kisses to a halt. "Okay, baby. Mommy quits." She responded. "Here."
Mila reached into her nightstand and pulled out a small piece of gum for Zo'. "Just please don't get it in your hair." She practically pleaded.
The last time Brianna let Zoelle get a hold of some chewing gum.... It. Was. Everywhere.
There was some gum in Zo's hair, there was gum on the floor, and Camila could never forget the gum all over Zoelle's clothes.
It was a disaster.
"Hey girl." Camila greeted Brianna. She then closed the door behind Bri.
"Hey." Bri replied as she took Zo from her best friend. "Hey, auntie's niecey!" She cheerfully said to Zoelle before she gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"Dang, I didn't get all of that type of love." Camila pretended to be hurt as she playfully pouted at Brianna. "I feel unloved."
Camila and Brianna started to laugh as Brianna sat Zoelle down to go color in her coloring book.
Camila's eventually laughing ceased down.
Suddenly, she felt an uneasy feeling deep down in her stomach. A wave of nausea rushed over her and she headed for the bathroom.
.....
"Bri, I feel like I'm dying!" Camila cried as she was hunched over the toilet.
She was throwing up everything she'd eaten the previous night.
"Is mommy okay?" Zo' asked while looking up from her coloring book.
"Mommy's fine." Brianna tried to assure her with a pat to the back. Then she went into the bathroom to tend to her sick best friend.
"Take this." Brianna pulled a pregnancy test out of the cabinet that she bought last week.
"I'm not pregn–"
"Bitch, don't feed me that bullshit." Brianna sighed. She was fed up with Mila ignoring the signs.
Camila got up, flushed the toilet, and started to brush her teeth. "Fine," She spit into the sink.
After she finished brushing her teeth, she pushed Bri out of the bathroom to handle her business with the pregnancy test.
"Now you got my nerves all over the place." Camila shouted so that Bri could hear her.
Brianna waited at the door with Zoelle in her arms. "Girl, shut up."
The two waited for five minutes. After time was up, Brianna could hear some faint crying coming from behind the bathroom door.
She sat Zoelle down on the bed and told her, "Stay put, baby."
"Mila...." Brianna knocked a couple of times on the door. "Boo, open up."
"I-I don't want to be bothered."
"Mila," Brianna raised her voice. "You gotta tell me what's so that I could probably help you."
"I'm on my own again. Zoo's not picking up the phone and....I'm pregnant by him again." Camila burst out into tears again.
Bri could hear something coming from behind the door and a couple of seconds later, Camila came out of the bathroom.
"Aw, best friend...." Brianna cooed to Camila. She pulled her into a hug and wrapped her arms around her for comfort. "I got you if you ever need anything."
Camila continued to cry while she laid her head down on her best friend's shoulder.
Zo' slid down from the bed, rushing over to her mommy. She hugged her leg and said, "It otay, mommy."
"Aw," Camila sniffled while getting out of the hug. She bent down to give her daughter a hug.
.....
All three laid in Camila's bed with popcorn and other snacks while watching movies.
"You good, now?" Brianna asked, turning her head to glance at Camila who had Zoelle laying on her.
"Yeah," Mila rubbed Zo's back as she started to fall asleep. "I guess. I got my girls with me, so I guess I'll be alright." She quietly responded.
"...What are you gonna do?" Brianna inquired aloud.
"I'm gonna do like I had to do with Zo'. I gotta do what's best for my child and put them before me because I want what's best for them."
"Just know that you have my help anytime, Mila." Brianna truthfully spoke.
"Thanks, Bri. I swear, I love you so much."
