"So, did you have fun?" I asked with a small smile added to my features.
"Yes! Can we do it again please, Papa?"
I nodded while laughing gently, pulling into our driveway that was left vacant the past couple days.
"I'm going to get the mail, can you carry your bags in?"
She gave a curt nod and hopped out of the car. Yoon slipped on her backpack and I popped the trunk, allowing her to grab her suitcase. She wheeled it into the house after I unlocked the front door and went to get the mail.
I found a single rose ontop of all the mail. I inhaled sharply knowing very well who it came from. It was hard to ignore it, no matter how much I wanted to I couldn't. It was hard, it wasn't easy living without the man I love. I grabbed the rose carefully nonetheless and carried the very little mail I had in my mouth, suitcase in my free hand. I stumbled inside, throwing the keys in a tray and the mail ontop of the coffee table. I heard a giggle come from upstairs and I smiled making my way towards Yoon's room, my smile faltered slightly once I heard her speaking to no one in particular.
"I dream of you..." I heard her say softly.
"Yoon? Who're you talking to?" I opened the door slowly and my smile completely fell off my face.
My eyes widened in horror at the sight. I had carried the rose up to show Yoon but now it was used as the object my hand gripped tighter out of fright.
"There you are, angel. Now we're complete again."
A tear slid down my face as I sprinted to get Yoon off of his lap.
"Seokjin!" Namjoon yelled chasing after me. I was about to turn down the stairs but he gripped my arm tightly, spinning me around.
"Set her down." He said through gritted teeth.
I swallowed and slowly set her down, handing her the single rose.
"Go set that in your room and unpack, stay in there until I say to come out." I kissed her forehead and sent her on her way.
My gaze shifted to Namjoon's glare, he took a step forward. I took a step back, knowing that only made him even more mad. Before I processed my thoughts, I sprinted down the stairs and raced to my kitchen to call for help. When I dialled Taehyung's number Namjoon ripped the phone from my hand and shoved me against the kitchen island. The counter jabbed into my back and I whimpered in pain.
"Why're you being like this, angel? I thought you'd be happy to see me."
"That's what you get for assuming." I seethed, he quickly gripped me by the jaw and pushed me further into the counter.
My voice became hourse as I screamed for him to stop, he held me against the counter but wasn't hurting me anymore.
"Seokjin... " he whispered into my ear "why're you running from me, hmm?"
His lips trailed down my neck causing my breath to hitch as I froze in place. Namjoon's lips hovered in front of mine, my eyes closed gently and I tried to picture myself elsewhere. Once I felt his soft lips against my plump ones, I was done for. I could no longer struggle against him because deep down I knew, and he knew.
I was still madly in love with him. I was still willing to do anything for him.
Namjoon deepened the kiss and entangled his slim fingers into my hair. I snapped myself back and pulled away, hands on his chest.
"J-joonie I can't... I can't be put in danger anymore, especially with Yoon..." I let the tears fall down harder then before.
"But I'm here now. I'm here to protect you both. I'm back."
"And that's the problem. You're the reason we were in danger."
Namjoon wiped away my tears and wrapped his arms around me.
"Just give me another chance..."
I gripped the front of his shirt and whispered, "If I do that then there'll be a chance that you fail us. There'll be an oppurtunity for you to hurt Yoon and I even more. I can't let you back in. I just can't."
And from that day forward, I'd find myself on a constant run away from Namjoon.
