I walked up to him with a large smile on my face. He was standing right in front of me, not even two feet away. "Nice shirt," he complimented. "I bought it myself," I awkwardly answered. "Are you Ally?" he asked. "Yes, I'm her," I said regaining my composure. "Dalton," he said as if I didn't know. "I know," I gushed. He smirked. We stood there in silence until he said, "soooooo." With no thought whatsoever, I blurted, "I love you." "Thanks," he said kindly, "What do you want to do?" "Can we go back to the hotel? These bags are sort of heavy," I suggested. "Of course. I'm so sorry. Let me take them. Our car is right outside," he said as he grabbed my bags.
We sat in the back seat and my excitement was evident. "So, how old are you?" Dalton asked. "19 next month. I know how old you are, 20," I answered. "Heh, yeah," he responded. "I'm so awkward, sorry," I exclaimed. "Aren't we all," he said. "That's deep," I told him. We both laughed.
"I'm, like, not good at talking to awesome people," I told him.
"Who else is here?" Dalton joked.
"Surrrreeeee."
"So, what's your favorite color?"
"Green. Yours?"
"Black."
"I can see that."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I don't know."
"You don't? Well it isn't very wise to say things you don't understand."
"Shut up. So you're getting a puppy at the end of all of this?"
He nodded.
"I'd name him Noby. It's kind of like nobody, but sounds like a puppy name."
"I guess you know about Project Nobody."
"Yeah."
"Did you eat?"
"Just a sandwich."
"Let's go to Fat Burger."
"Okay."
We walked in, and I was the happiest person alive.
