"El," she said quietly as she shook him. "Elliot, wake up."

He startled awake, then focused on the woman above him. "What?"

"What are you doing down here? Come up to bed."

"Nah, it's fine. You go."

"Okay, Elliot, what the fuck is your problem?" Olivia said loudly, turning on the lights.

"What are you talking about?!" he asked defensively. When he focused on Olivia, his heart broke, seeing her red, puffy eyes, but still was mad. Because he was an asshole.

"Why have you been distant and rude to me since we got to Rick's? Huh? You were all nice to Nicole but when we left you were driving like you-"

"Why I was nice to Nicole?! Why was I nice to a girl who just got raped?! Really?!"

"That's not what I meant! I need you, El! I want to go over to Rick's again and pick my baby up because I'm terrified that she's not home right now! What am I supposed to do? Sit in that bed all by myself and pretend that everything is okay?"

"Are you back with the wanting to have sex thing? That's not happening!" Elliot said. His voice was raising higher than it already was. They didn't care if the kids heard.

"I don't want to have sex. Hell no I don't, not now! You're being an asshole!"

"Am I? Am I really? You came down and yelled at me for no-"

"Don't even pull that! What did I do that was so wrong? You're mad at me! Why are you mad at me?!" she asked, voice cracking.

"I don't know, Liv. Maybe if you didn't have a habit of doing things without talking to me, you would understand my opinions a little better!"

"What do you mean, doing things without talking-"

"Grounding the twins! You did that when I wasn't even home! And tonight, just letting Nicole live with some guy who I haven't even had a five minute conversation with?! A-"

"Rick? This whole thing is about Rick?!" Olivia laughed. "You do know he was my partner for like...13, 14 years, right? He's practically Nicole's father!"

"Well I'm gonna be her real father! You can't just-"

"Wait, are you jealous of him?"

"Okay, now I know you're fucking losing it," Elliot cut her off. "Why would I-"

"Because me and Rick go way back. Because I trust him so easily. Because there was someone who protected me before you. Because men were in my life before you. Because you aren't the only one who has ever come to my rescue! Nicole called Rick when Peter was out of control. She wanted him when she was in the hospital. She ran to him when she cried on the stands while testifying. When I wasn't there, that's who she went to! And you can't handle that, can you?!"

"You should have talked to me! You should have let me handle-"

"Guess what, El? You can't handle everything! Like when I said I'd make Nicole wouldn't be hurt by people anymore! Transferring her to a new school didn't help! Like when you said you'd pro-" she stopped herself.

"Like when I said what? Liv, what were you gonna say?! What were you gonna say?!"

"Never mind. I'm going to bed."

"Like when I said I'd protect her. And you? Well, thanks, Liv! Don't I feel fucking better?"

"Oh, go fuck yourself!" she said as she went up the stairs.

"You do the same!"

All the kids were woken by the argument. They were all so scared by the words that had been said.

Nobody got a lot of sleep that night.

Olivia got up early so she could take the car to work, her own little petty way to get back at Elliot.

When Elliot woke up, Olivia was just leaving. He didn't realize it was Olivia, since the kids usually leave at that time for school, but he noticed it was her when the twins said goodbye to him.

30 minutes and one bus ride later, Elliot made it to work. When he saw Olivia, he said, "Thanks, Liv," before sitting.

The rest of the detectives could feel the tension in the room but said nothing.

The day was slow but for the couple it was agonizing. Liv volunteered to go do every little job there was, just so she didn't have to sit in the room with Elliot. Elliot took note of it, realizing that he shouldn't have yelled at her. She was scared. As much as their daughter probably was. But being the stubborn mule he was, he wouldn't apologize.

At one point, Olivia said she was going to get lunch, but sat up on the room and cried for her 30 minutes. Elliot took his break when the 30 minutes was up. He ended up passing Olivia when he went in the elevator as she came out. He saw her red eyes for half a second, then reached out for her, bringing her back into the small area with her.

"What in the hell-"

He cut her off by pushing her towards the nearest wall to kiss her. She fought him at first but let out a gasp when he pushed up her shirt.

"El," she squeaked, as a ding sounded, notifying them that the door was opening.

They pushed away from each other, fixing Olivia's shirt so they could walk out together. Elliot dragged her to the car and he drove them to the top level of the parking garage where nobody ever was.

"What are we doing up here?" Olivia asked.

"Back seat," was Elliot's only answer.

"I'm not doing it-"

Elliot cut her off again. Their lips met in a steamy fight for dominance. When Elliot reached for her shirt buttons, she broke away, pulling the lever on the side of her seat which caused it to fall back. She was now in a lying position - for the most part - and Elliot was on top of her.
