Chapter 4

Miyaka walked into a small little-unnamed village on the border of Land of Wind, and because it was filled with sand as far as the eye could see, it was always dry and cracked. They didn't have the beautiful look the sand village had, with houses and building made of hard sand packed together, instead they were all stone that was falling off the edges of the buildings, and the ground cracked more as she walked along it.

She stopped in front of a building that she was pretty sure was an inn, and opened the rotting door as it screeched in protest. Inside was just as bad as the outside, with the wallpaper peeling off and the paint underneath chipping and falling to the floor making piles along the floor, and pictures were faded so badly that they just looked like pictures of gray with barely visible outlines and were tilted slightly. Obviously, no one took the effort to straighten them.

Walking up to the counter where an old man was sitting in a chair, she asked for a room for the night. He handed her a sign in book and a pen. "Put your name and how long you're staying please."

His voice was shaking from his old age along with his hand as he handed her the pen. She stared for a minute before writing down her 'name'.

He took the book and read the name, "so your name is Miku?"

"Yes, why?"

"Oh, just that some strange men came in the village last night looking for someone by your name and description. I didn't realize it till now."

"Oh."

He handed her a room key with a tag attached to it that said 304 on it. "The room is down the hall to the right. And those men said that they will check back later, do you want me to send them to your room if they show up?"

She hesitated for a moment before replying simply, "sure, why not."

Once she found the room and closed the door behind her upon entering, she dropped her bag on the ground and went to the bathroom looking at herself in the mirror.

She had disguised herself so if someone from where she used to live saw her they wouldn't know who she was, or if she ran into the Akatsuki which would be a huge disaster.

Her new disguised look consisted of a fishnet shirt with a black jacket over top with black gloves, her black pants stopped at her shin, her boots stopped just at her ankle. She had long dark blue hair that went to her butt and her eyes matched her hair color.

This is what she looks like when she gets near a village or where there are lots of other ninjas around. She doesn't need a ninja seeing her alive a the news spreading like a wildfire. Even if that ninja won't know who she is, others that catch on might from previous jobs.

The only problem was when she is taking the tainted souls from the poor people that have suffered she has to be in her real form for her to absorb the power. And it's risky so she has to lure them into an empty ally or deep into the woods if she is in the forest, if not the somewhere so she won't be found out.

She splashed her face with some water and left the bathroom. The small room wasn't so bad from the condition of the inn. It was simple with a bed by the window a couch with a small T.V and a bathroom with a bathtub and shower head.

She stripped down and got into bed releasing her disguise, letting her mind drift to sleep.
