Chapter 18

Chapter 18

She stood there in shock at the person that was standing there in front of her.  There was no mistaking it, he was definitely the person that she thought he was but, she had killed him on a mission long before meeting up with the Akatsuki.  How he was alive she wasn't sure but the markings on his face along with the slightly red eyes was proof that his soul was tainted.

"How . . . are you alive?"  she asked slowly, keeping herself on high alert.

He didn't say anything and removed his hood then pulling the cloak off completely ripping it in the process and letting it flutter to the ground.  His short shaggy silver hair blew in the wind as his red eyes stared her down.  He pulled his sword out of its sheath that was strapped to his back pointing it towards her signaling he was ready for a fight.

She sucked her teeth and cursed to herself before jumping back making some distance between the two of them.  Her eye flamed to life before engulfing her whole body in blue flames.  Her red eyes watched him closely before she made a flaming blast out of her feet boosting forwards with insane speed.  She spun her foot around to give him a powerful kick, but he stopped her foot with the side of his sword.

'What?  That's impossible!'

His hand was shaking from the impact and trying to keep her from getting any closer to him.  He pushed her back making her slide across the ground on the balls of her feet.  She stood up glaring at him as he stood there not moving an inch.   The only movement he did was putting his sword back in front,  pointing it towards her.

She stared at it carefully trying to see if it had any runes on it that could be giving him the edge.  It looked like a normal sword that he was holding, it had a black hilt and handle and the blade as a plain silver.  

She blasted forwards again and he sidestepped making her fly right past him.  She fixed herself so her feet hit a tree then pushing off of it with force making it crack and fall to the ground with a crash.  He swung the blade towards her as her fist came at him making the blade and her fist clash.  Because of her flames surrounding her body, the blade didn't harm her hand instead she just felt a small dull pain in her hand.

Then something surrounded the blade throwing her back making her tumble to the ground.  Standing up her flames disappeared except for one of her eyes as she stared at the blade in shock.

There was something rippling around the blade like a sheath but see-through.  Then it disappeared as if it as never there, but she saw it and knew what it was.

'So Akuma has stepped up a level.  Now she allows the ones who are tainted to use some of her powers?  Or is it something else entirely?'

She put both of her hands above her head and a blue ball of flame appeared and grew in size until it was about five time the size of her.  Her other eye flamed to life as she thrust it towards her enemy.

It exploded as it made contact making hot wind from it hit her face whipping her hair around.  Once the smoke cleared she saw him crouched down at the ground with his sword stabbed into the ground as he was behind it and the same rippling was seen around his weapon.

Now she was one-hundred percent positive about what it was.  After all, she had the same powers for most of her life.

Maki, Kakuzu and Hidan were in the trees following the children that were being brought to god-knows-where.  The guards suddenly stopped getting off their horses and going through some of the bags that was strapped to the side of their horse.  Taking out a water cantine they gave each one of the children a mouthful of water before putting it back.

"Well, it looks like they are at least making sure they don't die of thirst,"  Maki spoke breaking the long silence they had going since Miku had separated from them.  He looked behind him worry etched into his face.

"She better not try and run.  If she does I will kill you then go after her."  Kakuzu spoke from in front of him as they perched themselves in the trees waiting for the cage to start moving again. 

"She won't.  She wouldn't leave me in such a situation.  And the look she had in her eyes was desperate.  Trust me when I say that we would be in more danger near her, than anywhere else on this dark island."

Hidan and Kakuzu looked at him confused at what he meant.  Miku can't be that dangerous could she?  Leader said that she had enough power to go toe to toe with some of the members if she tried.  Only Leader knew most of the information on her and he hasn't shared it with any of the other members yet.  There has to be a secret to her power, why else hasn't it been shared at all?

Miyaka jumped back quite a distance between her and her opponent.  She made hand signs making her chakra come and swirl around her, the markings for her seal appeared and she chanted a language releasing it.

She grew to her normal height and her green eyes changed and glared a hole through his head as her red hair changed and cascaded down her back.

She put her hands in front of her as her powers made a barrier form around her like another layer of skin.

This fight was going to become a little bit more difficult now.  She just had to be careful that Kakuzu and Hidan didn't come back or she would be dead.
