way to many kids and they were all cry babies. He wasn't though. His sister and best friend were right there with him. Plus his mom would be coming to get him any minute. She's promised they'd never be away from each other for long, that no matter how lost they got, she'd find them soon.
Andy was a little scared though, not scared enough to cry, but Nat was scareder. She hated the screams of the other kids, she hated the yelling and hated cold floor and hated spiky beds and hated the adults and hated his elbows and hated the stinky trucks and she really hated his smelly feet and the farts him and Luke made.
He got her to play a quick game of crocodile Moray, but then some boys had run up and tried to play to and scared her even more. He punched one of them and then the adults came.
There had been a blond one, like mom, but this blond was a lot taller and meaner. She told him to call her Miss Josie when she tried to punish him for fighting. Andy had called her a melioidosis turd butt. He had no idea what melioidosis meant, but it sounded good.
After that she tried to hit him. A nice man caught her hand and yelled at her. After the Turd Butt left the man had helped Andy get back Nat. She smiled and hugged the man. The man had stayed with them a while and gave them food, he even made them laugh.
That had been Nat's first laugh since they'd been taken. Andy liked the man for making Nat laugh. It had actually been his name that made them laugh. Four. Like the number.
Moma had told them both not to tell anyone their whole name, so neither had said anything, but they whispered about it later. It had been so funny because Nat's middle name was Four, just like the man's first name.
