Lily of the Valley (Levi x reader)

Chapter 7

After the scene with Eren during combat fighting, the rest of training seem to go by quickly. When dinnertime came around, Lily and her new friends made there way to their usual table. She sat down at the end of the table next to the energetic Sasha and across from the blue eyed Armin. They were all having fun laughing and talking about life before the fall of the wall. It seemed before the fall, their lives were simple and enjoyable. Lily was kind of jealous of this, but there was nothing she could do about it.

As the group continued to eat, Lily felt something touch her hip and a arm go around her neck. In a panic, she grabbed the arm and without a second thought she flipped the person over and they landed flat on their back. Her vision blurred in fear as she started to breath short but heavy breaths. No one really cared about the poor boy lying on the floor trying to figure out what just happened, all focus was on Lily.

Armin reached across the table to pit his hand on her shoulder. Once his small hand brushed over the shoulder of the frightened girl, she immediately fell backwards in Fran and stated to scooch away. The same memories that had clouded her mind earlier had just came back, but stronger. Hot tears rushed down her face and sweat made her face sparkle.

Mikasa seemed to be the only one who noticed that this pain that attacked Lily suddenly only happened when in contact with a male. She thought 'It first happened with Eren while in combat and now with this poor boy who didn't see it coming.'

Mikasa got up and slowly made her way toward the frighten Lily. She then kneeled down so she was face to face with Lily before pulling her into a tight hug. Lily was tense at first, but when she realized it was Mikasa, she then returned the hug. At this moment, Mikasa remained Lily of her old friend, Kira, who use to always find a way to calm her down even in the worst situations.

Once Lily's tears stopped and her breathing returns to normal, the two girls got up slowly and headed back towards the table of confused friends. Lily said with a shaky voice, "Sorry guys and sorry..." she paused and looked down at the boy now sitting on the ground who she had just flipped and said, "and I am truly sorry Jean. You just scared me. Please don't sneak up on me like that." With that she just stared down at the ground before helping him up.

Jean looked at the frightened girl and felt sorrow for her. Once she helped him up, he looked at her and tilted her head up, and said "Don't apologize Lily, it was my fault not yours. Can we restart, I think we got off on the wrong foot? My names Jean, nice to met you."

Lily was surprised by this, so she just went with it and said,"Hello Jean, I'm Lilian, but you can call me Lily."  

*TIME SKIP*

Back in the cabin, the girls all sat on their bunks and talked about training and cute boys they had seen. Sasha had already fallen head over heals for that boy named Connie. The rest of the girls just laughed at this comment because they realized how good those two would actually be together.

During all of this talk, Lily just sat on her bunk and stared at her mothers ring that dangled from her neckless. It's was a beautiful sliver ring with a quote engraved inside of it. It stated,"The world is a cruel but beautiful place."

This was the only thing that has kept her going since she was separated from her little sisters. She thought to herself, 'I had always seen a cruel world, never a beautiful one.'  Then she looked around to see all of the girls laughing and having fun, then she thought to herself, 'Maybe I have to help the beautiful part a bit and not just wait for it to happen.'

After thinking that, she put the ring down so it dangled on the neckless. She then scooted herself to the edge of the bunk with a smile on her face and joined in the conversation. The girls laughing and having fun reminded her of her sisters... at least before they went into hell.
