After that I put my head down on my pillow hoping sleep would find me soon.
It felt like I was asleep for 10 minutes before I shot up shaking. I had to grab a piece of paper. I needed to write down words that were flowing to me. I quickly grabbed my journal writing down the lyrics that seemed to come to me while I was asleep. Within 15 minutes I had wrote a new song. I had to get up to play it on my guitar.
Two weeks flew by quickly. I walked onto my tour bus super excited to start touring. I spun around inside amazed at how big it was. Matt decided to come to for the first week with me. He wanted to see how everything was organized.
He walked in behind me smiling “Looks good!”
I turned to him “I know right!”
He chuckled “Only you would find the tour bus the most exciting part.”
I shrugged “If I think too much about the performing part I will get nervous.”
He nodded “Alex gave you a bunch of tips so you’ll be fine.”
I giggled “No he gave me rock/punk tips not country tips. My stage outfits are cute dresses and cowboy boots not jeans and sneakers.”
The rest of the day flew by and I was getting ready to take the stage. I was shaking so badly. I had literally five minutes until I had to be on stage.
My band already took the stage and I just had to wait for the music to start. I remember hearing the crowd cheer as the music started and I began to walk out on stage. I have never seen so many people in one place at once. I was still super nervous as I got to the mic.
I said into the mic “How are you Nashville!?”
I got a cheer in reply which made me feel a lot better.
“Well I’m Ava! And it’s such a great honor being able to perform for you all tonight!”
The whole room seemed to cheer again.
“I’m gonna start with a cover you all probably know... All Jacked Up by Gretchen Wilson!”
Everyone seemed to sing along with me as I performed the song. I performed three of my songs and did two more covers (Easy by Rascal Flatts and So Small by Carrie Underwood).
I was so pumped when I walked off stage. I screamed out of excitement of performing my first show.
After the show I walked onto the bus and was greeted by a bunch of cheers. I smiled seeing Matt invited a bunch of people to celebrate my first show. Cassadee, Rian, Zack, Alex, Maci, Vinny, my mom, my dad, and Jack all stood there smiling.
I hugged Matt knowing he wanted my first show to feel important to me. When Your A Celebrity blared through the speaks on the bus.
Alex chuckled “Now let’s hope Ava doesn’t take this song too seriously like we have.”
Everyone chuckled knowing he was joking.
I hugged him “Thanks for coming to support me.”
Cassadee hugged me next “Congrats Love! You were amazing!”
I smiled “Thanks! I loved it! I had such a rush being up there!”
Rian, Vinny, and Zack hugged me telling me I did great. Next I hugged my parents and Maci. The only one left was Jack.
