Near sat with his building blocks as he worked on the case. He was building the blocks in a staircase formation. Most of the wealthy are under aliases already, so if Accuso tries to kill them, it won't work unless they have the eyes. For a select few, they will die if their name is written in the notebook. However, for the ones who were already under aliases, they'll have two more chances to be free of the Death Note. Near had finished the staircase.

Commander Rester entered the room as Near finished his thoughts. "The plane leaves later today at 11:45. I suppose you have everything you need?" By not receiving an answer, Rester knew that Near was prepared.

"BANG!" Near knocked over the building-block staircase.

Rester usually knew what to expect out of the young man, but this sudden action startled him. "Near, what did you do?"

"The next time you hear me say, "BANG!" as loud as I just did, you will know that we have captured Accuso." Near started rebuilding the staircase.

Rester shook his head as he started up his computer. When the machine turned on, he noticed new files on his desktop. The detective's eyes gazed over the lights. There was updated information on Touta Matsuda, Shuichi Aizawa, Kanzo Yogi, Yamamoto, and Hideki Ide. Since the end of Light Yagami's rein as Kira, Mr. Aizawa had been promoted to the chief of the NPA (National Police Agency) The Commander concluded that Near wanted him to study the materials on the way to Japan.

Gevanni and Lidner's work was present as well on Rester's computer; he figured that either Near or Gevanni himself had placed it into his files.

His Caucasian hands moved through his hair as he read the files. Looking down at his hands, he noticed he had pulled some grey hairs out of his head. Great, I'm becoming an old man. He thought. The stress of working with the world's greatest detective was taking a toll on the older man. He had bags under his eyes, greying hair, and a small social life. Though, being a detective fulfilled the man's happiness.

An alarm dinged, signaling that it was time to depart to the airport. Near knocked over the building-block staircase once again. Rester stretched as he stood up, his age showing even more.

Near and Rester were on the airplane. Due to his white hair, Near was disguised as an old man on his way to Japan for medical treatment. Rester was pretending to be his son. The two were stationed in the middle of the plane in a small, personal room. A blond flight attendant would come by every hour or so to check on the "patient."

"Mr. Saunders, how is your father holding up?" Said the woman loudly. Her golden-brown eyes stayed locked on Rester's light, blue eyes. "We're almost in the Kanto region. Get ready to get off first."

"Thank you, Halle. You'll be getting off last, correct?" Rester whispered. "Oh, and my father is hanging in there. I hope we can get there in time..."

Halle Lidner nodded as she left the compartment. Near studied documents on his computer as the plane began to land. "Jesse, if I die, the flowers will need to be watered."

Rester was extremely confused. "Huh? Okay..."

The plane jumped as it hit the ground. A child started crying; it's parent trying to soothe it. There was a gunshot, causing a few people to scream. "R, I there's a 7% possibility that the shooter is related to Accuso."

"I'll shoot them, I have my-"

"No, you'll be injured. Stay down, I'll be getting in this container." Near crawled down into a storage room in the compartment.

"ALRIGHT! LISTEN UP! I'M ONLY GOING TO SAY THIS ONCE! IF YOU SUPPORT KIRA, YOU'LL LIVE. IF YOU DON'T," The shooter screamed. "YOU WILL DIE IN THE NAME OF OUR GOD, KIRA!" More shoots rang out.

Footsteps raced down the aisle. The curtain concealing Near and Rester swung open. "You don't support Kira, do you?!"

Rester reached for his gun. Before his hand could trace the metal surface, one if the last shots
to be fired on the plane rang out.

Anthony Carter cried in agony.

The man had shot Rester.

Inside the compartment, Near's eyes widened. Rester will not die. Accuso shouldn't know his name. There is no way that Accuso can learn or know Rester's name. Near shoved his face into his knee. There's no possible way.

A final bullet went through the head of the shooter. Lidner walked into the compartment. "Where is your father? Is he okay?" Lidner saw the gunshot wound in Rester's shoulder. "Anthony!" She whispered, stressfully. "We need a doctor!"

The medical staff on site rushed in to treat Rester. "This man needs to be transported to a hospital quickly. He's lost lots of blood." Rester's body was lifted onto a stretcher. Near listened to the conversation as he lay scrunched up in a cabinet. The white haired man waited for one of his agents to retrieve him after most of the passengers left the plane.

He heard the curtain open one final time. "Mr. Saunders? Are you ready to leave?" Gevanni's voice echoed in the cabin.

"I believe so."

Masuro Jukinaki
2/17/16 Flies on a plane on his way back to Japan. Somehow, he is able to sneak a gun onto the plane. When the plane lands, he shoots bullets at random. He is shot through the heart by someone after completing these actions.

"So, you did this for EVERY plane flying out or into Japan? This is intense, even for you."

Accuso laughed. "I'm thinking that L is coming back to Japan soon, since that's where Kira first made his appearance. I'll be doing this everyday for a month. Somehow, I'll find one of his agents with the blondish-hair."

Sidoh cringed. They're even scarier than Mello!

Rester was recovering from the gunshot wound well. This unfortunate incident delayed the meeting of L and the disbanded Kira Task Force.

"I'm starting to think that Near and his team aren't showing up for a different reason. What if Near let the Death Note get loose into the wrong hands?" Matsuda sighed.

"We all have issues trusting Near, Matsuda. But considering the fact that he is now L, I highly doubt he would do that. You still think that he killed Mikami and set up Light's death, don't you?" Ide glared at the younger man.

Matsuda looked away as he recalled the moment from over six years ago. "Maybe. I don't think I'll ever be able to trust him."

Ide sighed once again as he drove his car to Matsuda's house. "You're getting a car soon, right? I'm going to be late for my date..."

"You have a girlfriend?! Since when?!" The detective jumped at this news.

"She's not my girlfriend yet. I met her online..." His face was turning bright red.

"Let me know how it goes! I can be your wing-man, I may score a date soon."

Ide laughed. "Sayu said a long time ago that maybe if you were a little younger..."

Matsuda blushed. "S-She might change her mind!"

"Good luck. Now, get out of my car." Ide started to drive off, leaving the younger detective highly embarrassed at his apartment.

I'm lucky the coffee shop is just down the street. Otherwise, I would have been very late coming from my apartment. He left his car near the shop.

A pleasant fragrance greeted the man. He noticed his date over in a corner reading a magazine. The woman had brown hair and green eyes.

However, this was not her natural appearance.
