By the hand of L, Rue Inoue was arrested and charged with the bank robberies. The Blue Money case, which had took about three years to solve, was finally over. Near decided to look into the Inoue family. There were two reasons that he was doing this. The first reason is rather obvious, as the culprit sometimes involves their family. Accuso acted in a strangely similar pattern that of Blue Money. How Accuso picked their victims, how they died, it was all a pattern; numericals were usually involved.

Since Mrs. Inoue worked for Sakura TV, she was the first one to be interrogated. Yamamoto was given the job of interrogating her. "Thank you for your cooperation, ma'am. This should go swimmingly." He flashed a photo of Rue Inoue. "This is your husband, Rue Inoue, correct?"

She nodded. "Yep, that's him."

"Had you noticed any changes with his behavior in the past three years?"

"Rue began drinking a few years back. I think his main reason was that he couldn't afford treatment for our youngest daughter. Due to the drinking, he lost his job. I was the only one working, until two and a half years ago. He said that he got an online job marketing, and that we could pay for many expensive things because of this. Rue still became intoxicated occasionally. Wait, did I say that it was two and a half years ago? I think it was more like three..." She looked down.

Yamamoto thought to himself. Usually when people are telling the truth, they do tend to question dates and figure out what exactly happened. This seems to be the case with Mrs. Inoue... "Okay, I've written down your statement. Thank you."

He left the room. Yamamoto walked to the investigation headquarters as quickly as possible. His feet ran like never before. Along the way, Matsuda pulled up to him. "Hey, Yamamoto. I can drive you to the headquarters. After work, do you want to go get a drink?"

The younger man sighed. "I suppose we can go by the bar after work." He hopped into Matsuda's car.

Matsuda went on about how much he didn't like Near, how he suspected that Near wrote Mikami's name in the Death Note, and many other theories. Like the media, Matsuda slightly suspected that Near was using the Death Note. Yamamoto rolled his eyes when he heard this statement.

"L has all of the police at his hand. He would have killed the old task force by now, and myself. Matsuda, you need more sleep." Yamamoto looked at the thirty-five year old man with pity.

Matsuda's smart phone started ringing. "I'll get it." He reached for his phone. "Hello? Ah, Sayu. How are you doing? Say, would you like to go out sometime..?" He continued talking with the younger girl until they arrived upon the headquarters. "Bye, Sayu. I'll talk to you soon."

"I suppose that was Sayu?" Yamamoto poked.

"Yeah..."

"I figured."

Matsuda laughed as he shook his head and went inside with Yamamoto. The usually fuss over security happened, having to take all metal objects out of the pockets and whatnot.

"Matsuda, Yamamoto. We're discussing how to contact the youngest daughter of Rue Inoue, Noriko Inoue. She lives at To-Oh, but she abandoned her cell phone so that she could focus on studying." Aizawa said.

"Does her mother have her email? Or at least her dorm number?" Ide questioned.

"I can ask her." Yamamoto exclaimed. "Also, she is not Kira."

Near pushed an airplane toy up into the air. "Why would you say something like that?"

"She wasn't lying. When people lie, they tend to make up propstorius details as they go along. With her, she would remember something and go back." He pushed his glasses up.

"That's not a good reason to say she's telling the truth." Near placed the train on the ground. "Gevanni, ask the Japanese police to submit her to a polygraph test."

Gevanni nodded.

Mogi changed the subject. "How are we going to contact Noriko?"

"We won't contact Ms. Inoue yet. As L did with Light Yagami, we'll place wiretaps and surveillance cameras in her dorm." Near continued flying the plane.

"Great, more illegal work. As the chief of the Japanese police, I could face criminal charges." Aizawa scratched his head.

"We've all done illegal things." Near took Lego characters out of the plane.

"We'll send in regular technology installers in, saying that one of us feared for our safety." Rester added.

"Who will act as the owner?" Lidner questioned.

"None of us exactly look like a college student, except for Yamamoto."

Yamamoto wasn't sure he liked the plan. "Noriko might like girly things. Wouldn't that be odd to see in my room?"

Matsuda laughed. "Nah, you could make it work."

The younger man showed irritation on his face. "Okay, I'll do it."

May 17th, 2016

Yamamoto dressed in his best hip gear for To-Oh. He knew of the clothes Light wore when he attended there, and thought that the dress could would be the same for the most part. Luckily for him, students seemed to be wearing the same style of clothing he was.

He met the tech crew as he showed them to Noriko's dorm. Near had made an identical key for the room. Through some hacking, Gevanni told Yamamoto that Noriko attended classes all day, so there was no chance of her returning to her dorm. The people around her dorm had been working on a tedious project, so them interfering wasn't going to be an issue. Yamamoto planned to search the room clean.

It took approximately an hour for all of the cameras and wiretaps to be installed. Once the tech people left, Yamamoto began working efficiently. The young detective flipped the bed, pictures, paintings, Noriko's computer, her desk drawers, everything he could get his hands on. His gloves had dirt on them by the end of his search.

Absolutely nothing turned up.

The black haired man left To-Oh with nothing worthy of being found. All of the task force agents had been instructing him on where to search and how to get out. I've been working here for four years, I shouldn't be treated like a rookie anymore. He thought. Then again, they may just want to make sure that I'm doing a thorough job.

Once he was safely back at headquarters, Noriko had returned to her dorm. Just like Light Yagami all those years ago, she cracked the books and began studying. While she was at her computer, the bed flattened itself. "Did anyone else see that?" Yamamoto asked.

"It may be the bed adjusting to the room temperature, or..." Near looked Yamamoto in the eyes. "A shinigami."

The task members gasped once they heard that term. Would this be a repeat of the previous Kira? Would Near scream and collapse onto the floor?

Instead, he zoomed in on the book she was studying. Nothing out of the ordinary, it seemed. Through the wiretaps, the task force heard a knock on her door. "Just a second!" She slipped her notebooks away, walking to the door with a smirk.

A man was at her doorway, smiling like a crocodile. "Hey, Noriko. How's your night going?"

"It was alright, but then you showed up. Now, it's going to get even better." The two jumped into a kiss, which ended up leading to other...things.

"I can't watch this. I'm heading out for the night." Aizawa declared. The others seemed to be on the same boat, disturbed by the provocative sight they had just witnessed. Near stayed to observe the room, leaving no leaf unturned.

Everything was going as planned.
