Noriko Inoue's death had been determined as a heart attack. Yamamoto was devastated, for he had just lost the love of his life. The SPK and Japanese Task Force were conjoined once again, Yamamoto being discharged for personal reasons. Yes, he wanted to find Kira, but due to the circumstances of Noriko's death, he could not bear himself to investigate Kira anymore.
The seventh Kira was lashing out. He announced that Accuso was deceased, causing chaos between the world. For the people who liked Accuso, and not the seventh Kira, there was an ultimate battle. Protests, vigils, worships, so many events in favour of Accuso's death, and many events celebrating the rule of Accuso. Kira took over the television, the internet, all forms of public news. He would threaten the lives of public officials, in exchange for the faces of criminals. However, one the deed was done, he'd kill a public official just to spite L. More and more of the public became angered by L not being able to find Kira, and demanded that L was found.
Another factor was the split personality. Many people reverted back to that theory that had first occurred back when Light Yagami had become the first Kira. L had addressed that this was untrue multiple times, while Kira hung to the idea like a cat to a mouse. This angered the young man, as he could not do anything to stop it.
All information related to Jonathan Boucher had been erased. It seemed that Noriko had deleted all the data, somehow hacking into Japan's information service. Near was sure of it, Boucher was the seventh Kira. He had determined that Boucher was the one who gave Inoue the Death Note scrap, having it glued to her hand. While looking through the hospital's surveillance footage, Near had been inclined to know that all of the data on Noriko had been deleted. Checking the visitor logs from that day, a man had signed in to visit Noriko. This man was not Yamamoto, but someone by the name of "Alexis Bonhomme". Seeing as the name was French, as was Boucher's, Near glared at the information.
Out of all of the things to find a person, the only two options available were to send out a sketch of Jonathan Boucher, and have his face in a database to be selected. Near had contacted a successor from Wammy's, whom happened to be skilled with computers. The successor had made a program to detect the server used by Kira, and block it from entering the media. This action had put her at the top of the line to succeed L, which was unknown to her, and the other successors. "Thank you, Effie."
"The pleasure is all mine, L." With that, the two hung up the connection.
As it was installed, L began broadcasting on all media. Anything that was being done on any device was halted, causing irritation. "Greetings to you all. What I have interrupted your useless time for is urgent." Near displayed a sketch of Jonathan Boucher on the screen. "This man's name is Jonathan Boucher. Boucher is the number one suspect for Kira. I, L, need your help in locating this man. Another suspect in the Kira case, whose name used to be Accuso, deleted all information we had on this man."
Knowing the connection was slowing down, Near continued his message to the public. "Do not approach him directly. He is very dangerous, and is able to kill you in 40 seconds."
The connection cut out. Kira's famous screen popped up as a replacement. "Yes, L. Do exactly as I have instructed you. L, I'll have you know that I have a different face now. That I am no longer Jonathan Boucher. Just as Noriko Inoue is no longer Accuso." His voice teased, a scrambled voice.
A few of the public will be able to connect Yamamoto to Inoue. We'll need to put him in hiding. Near had a line to Aizawa open, telling the older detective to hide Yamamoto at once.
"That's right. Any of you who know Noriko Inoue, she was Accuso! And the very man she was engaged to, Yamamoto, is still alive!" Boucher laughed. "I kept him alive for one reason, and one reason alone. To make him suffer. To make him a pawn. Those of you who find Yamamoto, you'll be as good as dead."
"Aizawa, do not contact Yamamoto!" Giving no further explanation, Near sent a message to Rester.
"L, good luck trying to win this one."
The connection cut out, everyone going to post something about this incident on their social media accounts.

Twenty men with high-tech uniforms raced into the residence of a 30 year old man. The man was huddled in a corner, crying hysterically. "Please, don't come near me!" He screamed, building a fortress of tables in front of himself.
"Yamamoto, we're here to protect you. We'll be taking you to a monitored, high security facility."
"No! Just leave me here, someone might die!" Yamamoto screamed.
An explosion went off behind the man, knocking him into the investigators. A claw took the unconscious man, bringing him out of the house. "Suspect 24458 has been apprehended. Transferring him to unspecified location."
As the machine holding Yamamoto flew, missiles started flying at the machine. Unfortunately, the machine was hit, causing Yamamoto's capsule to fall to the ground. Another plane picked up the capsule, heading in the opposite direction.  Watching from cameras, the current L instructed new orders. "Send another plane out, now!" Damn you, Boucher!
The plane carrying Yamamoto was not struck once by L's missiles. When it reached the sea of Japan, the plane exploded. A black, person-sized capsule fell to the ocean. "Boucher has prepared a submarine, fire into the water!"
"If we fire, Yamamoto may die." The general instructed.
"That's an option we need to take. Boucher may use Yamamoto to kill the Task Force against Kira." Near operated as quickly as he could.
"L, we cannot shoot there. We'll look next time."
"General, I can smell that lie, even from where I am. The least you can do is trace the sub." Near talked through his teeth.
Sighing, the general declared the order to find the ship.
Likewise, the submarine won't go to Boucher's location, but we'll know where Yamamoto is being kept. Sighing in frustration, Near moved a puppet across a map.

"Jonathan Boucher, I need my Death Note!" Sidoh wailed.
Laughing, Jonathan turned to the shinigami. "Like Hell you're getting this back. I, like many humans, have never seen a shinigami die. I would be honoured to witness your death!" He spat on the shinigami.
"That's it, I've had enough of you!" Sidoh flung himself at the Kira, trying to strangle the man. His eyes were fearful, squirming in Sidoh's arms.
"Sidoh, the shinigami king will kill you, if you kill that man!" Ryuk laughed, predicting the two's fate.
"If I'm going to die, this brat is going down with me! I'm tired of Kiras!" Sidoh began turning silver, dying like Rem and Gelus had done over ten years before him. His grip on Jonathan became less and less, Jonathan being able to breathe once again. "N-No!" Sidoh turned to dust, Jonathan Boucher being set free.
Brushing himself off, Jonathan turned to Ryuk. "I suggest you don't do the same."
"I've told you these things before, kid. Remember our promise? Like the first Kira, I intend on keeping it."
"How convenient."
