The Late Night of May 22nd, 2016

Noriko and Yamamoto's date continued. Spaceland was fun; however, Noriko made Yamamoto's wallet cry out in death. "Hey, Madoka," Noriko took Yamamoto's hand. "Why don't you come to my place?"

"I'm sorry, Noriko. My parents said I can't go to other people's dorm rooms past nine o'clock." He was hoping she would believe his lie.

"Do your parents really care what you do?" She leaned in closer. "My father is in jail, and my mother is dead. I'm an adult, I can do whatever the hell I want!" Noriko went in for a kiss.

Yamamoto wasn't sure how to respond. He fell into the kiss, slightly enjoying the Kira suspect's soft, pink lips. Little did he know that the girl was stealing his wallet out of his pocket. Using her left hand, Noriko opened it to see his driver's license. His name read, "Madoka Komura". Noriko though this was a fake name, of course. He had been too eager to tell her his name. Before she pulled away from the kiss, she quickly slipped the wallet back into his pocket.

"Don't you want to come to my place now?" She whispered seductively.

"We'll send you a text from your parents saying that your grandmother has had a stroke halfway there. You'll say that you're very close to her, and that you must go to the hospital." Aizawa's voice echoed in his ears.

"I would love to." Yamamoto whispered back.

She smiled a smile that of the devil's. "It will be a complete night."

Yamamoto drove back to To-Oh with Noriko. Without hesitation, she took his hand. He went along with to prevent causing suspicion, for if he did, his neck would be hanging from a bridge. Just as Aizawa had said, Yamamoto's smart phone buzzed with a text message. Since he was driving, he didn't pick up the phone. As a panicking mother would act, his phone rang much to Noriko's annoyance. "Could you pass me the phone, Noriko."

"Sure..." She hissed. Handing the phone to Yamamoto, she puffed her cheeks to show that she was not happy about their date being interrupted.

"Madoka? Oh, sweetheart, I have terrible news!" Lidner's voice was jumping out of the phone.

"Mom? What's wrong?" Yamamoto tried to play the role of the concerned son.

She wept over the phone. "Your grandmother has had a stroke. S-She's not expected to live long."

Continuing to rock his role, Yamamoto stopped the car. "I'll come to the hospital right away, mom."

The two bid their goodbyes as he hung up the smart phone. "Noriko, please understand. My grandmother and I are very close, you see. I would go to her house when I was younger when my parents were working."

"You can always attend her funeral. I don't think she'll be able to speak anyways." Noriko rolled her eyes at the excuse Yamamoto was trying to put on.

Yamamoto thought quickly. "I swear our next date won't have any interruptions. I'll leave my phone at home next time."

"Whatever. Bye, Madoka." She hopped out of the car, steam coming out of her ears.

He sighed as he drove his car to the hospital. Despite no one telling him to, he decided to drive there in case he was being tailed by his new girlfriend. Yamamoto's earpiece had Ide's voice echo in his head. "Where are you going, Yamamoto?"

"The hospital."

"Your grandmother isn't really in the hospital. That was Lidner." Ide rolled his eyes at the younger man back at headquarters.

"What if Noriko is following me? If I don't go to the hospital, then she will know that I was lying."

Most of the taskforce were shocked by his motives. Near chimed in on his earpiece. "We will send Lidner to the hospital to retrieve you. The 1968 Chevrolet Camaro will be picked up by Rester later."
