Late February, 2016.

Ide blushed as he saw the beautiful woman. Trying to be as prim and proper as possible, the detective stood up straight and fixed his tie the best he could. He made himself seem as manly as possible, which in a way, made him a fool of himself.

The detective walked over the brown haired woman. "I believe that I'm your date; I'm Hideki Ide."

"You are even more handsome than you are online! It's me, Rika Mizuki. I'm your date." Her smile was all too familiar to Ide, but he couldn't think of who she reminded him of.

"Do you come to this place often? It's my first time here..." Hideki Ide tried to make small talk with the woman, unaware that their conversation was being overseen by two other men.

"Lidner is great at disguising herself, isn't she?" Gevanni said to the white-haired man.

He nodded in agreement. "The Japanese Task Force still is oblivious to everything. Though the original Kira task force is disbanded, a few of the detectives still do not have a clue of what is going on."

Gevanni sighed. "So, we're investigating all of the people mentioned in the file?"

"One by one."

The date continued. "What do you do for a living, Hideki?"

"I'm a detective. What about you, Rika?"

She laughed. "Oh, I run a pet shop not too far from here. I could take you by sometime."

Ide continued exchanging words with the detective as a waitress came to take the two's orders.

"What do 'ya want? Coffee? Spinach?" The waitress had dark lipstick, a toothpick in her mouth, and a mole above her lip.

Ide cringed. "I'll have milk to drink. For lunch, I suppose I'll have a ham sandwich."

"May I have lemonade to drink? I'll also have a ham sandwich." Lidner smiled at the woman.

"Sure, sweet-pea." The waitress nudged Ide. "Treat this lady nice, will 'ya?"

Ide chuckled as the woman left. Shortly afterwards, Ide and Lidner's dinner arrived, signaling that the date was almost up.

Once the meal was finished, Lidner pretended to look at her phone in worry. "There's been an accident involving my mother! I'm sorry, but I have to go." She scurried away quickly.

"Rika! I could come with you. Please, wait." He reached for the woman.

"I am terribly sorry, but this does not involve you." She walked away, leaving the detective in tears.

"Women. This is why I do not choose love." Hideki Ide kicked a bench in frustration. His black shoe received a new scuff on the front, damaging the uniform once more.

"We've checked up on all of the previous members of the Kira Task force. Near, I don't think they oppose a threat to us." Lidner placed the files on the table.

He twisted his hair. "You're right. They're too dimwitted for that."

Gevanni walked into the work area. "Commander Rester should be discharged from the hospital later today. Is it safe to bring him back here?"

Near nodded in agreement to his statement.

"I suppose I should pick him up then." Lidner left Gevanni and Near together in the room.

"Gevanni, please research the Blue Money Case again. Trace their files to the best of your ability." Near threw a dart, missing the board by inches.
