I feel sad now, writing all my feelings in this abandoned notebook. Raiding stores isn't so fun, there could be jumpscares around every corner from either a dangerous gang member or lone cannibal. There's the cannibal tribes and the civilized but hostile gangs everywhere. I found them all the way in the middle of the Arkansas once. They had built an underground society, to not be disturbed by the scavenging cannibals that roam about, eating whatever they can get their hands on, that includes us as well. Even if your sick with some disease or virus, they will eat you alive and save your head to show off as a trophie for the rest of the tribe. How do I know all of this? I was almost eaten once. A description of these visions man-eaters? Pointy teeth, almost naked, always covered in blood, nails out of whack, sunken eyes, wrinkled skin, no lips, some have no noses, grey-ish skin color, men are always bald and, the women(at least that's what they look like) have crazy black witch hair. They also are no longer coherent in any language except horrendous grunts, growls and screams. They can actually run very fast and swim extremely well. One thing, avoid all caves at all costs, especially ones with water, those things practially worship caves. Traveling through the Rocky Mountains was a bad idea. There were THOUSANDS of them, in their catacombs of bones, blood and, random limbs and rotting body parts. Me, being ignorant, thought it was ok to set up camp with Sora in a small but remote cave. As we went deeper to get away from the cold, we noticed a rotting smell and immediately knew what we had walked into.
I pulled her backpack, and sung her around from the back of me, now having her in front of me, I told her to run and to fly away as fast as she could. They're like zombies, except smarter and can be spiders when it comes to walls and ceilings. As I began to use my 10 inch switchblade and began going from cannibal to cannibal, stabbing through their skulls with disgusting, cracking sounds that echoed off the walls. After the first wave came, I ran to the entrance where we had came from only to find her pinned and being torn apart. She was being torn limb from limb. Her screams were the worst part. All I could do was stare, with wide enough eyes that even Popeye could see through them with his mundane squinting.
As I watched those hideous, grey, corrupted beings tear her stomach open and feast upon her insides, I rushed forth and saw red. A Crimsion, bloody red. One I hate seeing. After my vision was regained I looked around me and saw the ghoulish beings lay still, most laying in their own pools of Crimsion blood. I looked down and saw my hands on her stomach with a stray peice of cloth. It was soaked through with her blood. My hands were stained a rusty red, them too being soaked with wet and dry blood. The smell of iron was overwhelmingly filling my nostrils and making me cough and cover my nose. When a hand touched my knee, I flinched. It was only Sora, still alive but barely breathing. I said everything was going to be okay and we would make it to LA together in hopes of finding the others. She stopped me mid-rant and told me to go on and find Aiden myself. She wanted me to end her suffering. I only had a knife, no gun to be humane. She didn't care, she wanted the pain to stop, it was unbearable. After we escaped the lab, the not-feeling-extreme-pain thing went away. I told her it would only hurt for a second and I would do it as quickly as possible. She told me she was ready and then.....I stabbed her repeatedly until there was no more of her frantic breaths or choking sounds as she tried to swallow her own blood. No more pain.....No more suffering.....No more.....
I picked up her light body and wound the last of our bandages around her stomach, tightening it to keep the blood from getting onto anything else as preparing her for burial. I took her backpack and slung it over my back. She didn't have many supplies left but an extra backpack helped. I shouldn't be thinking that, the person I'm carrying was just ripped open and most of her internal organs and such were just devoured in in front of me. I ended this persons life because of the pain she was in. I only caused more ending her life. The knife didn't go all the way through her skull the first time, unfortunately I had repeatedly stab until she stopped moving and twitching. Today isn't a good day(clearly).
I buried her under an old oak tree so she could become the tree. She always liked trees, especially the big redwoods. I carved her name into the tree and burned the etchings to show up better against the usual light beige of the massive tree. I sat there, once done with my digging and crying and contemplated on what to do next. Should I really go out into the world alone to find the others? I found out that there were others like Sora and I, with the giant bird wings and stuff. I found some documents stating they had taken mostly common bird genes and put them into people, so they could lead the others. I found out I represent the Raptor bird group. Sora represented the Marsh bird group, you know, the herons, limpkins, coots and, bitterns etc. There is also one person who represents that species, for example; the heron, the person would have heron wings but, would have to follow orders from Sora. Because she is gone, they have scattered and are most likely wiped out by now. Back to the subject at hand, before Sora and I escaped that horrible lab, there was a boy who seldom spoke, but was extremely helpful. He helped others to not panic or loose their sanity. I don't know why he was in the cages with us, he was a successful experiment. He was strong and a good leader. They must have found a default in him somewhere to be put in a cage and the small room with us. Anyways, he said something about LA and a safe place to stay. That's all I needed to know, a safe haven is hard to come by now and days. So, I'm going after him, to pursue that safe haven and, hopefully get the others - Raptors, Seabirds, Songbirds, Smallbirds, Scavengers, Forest Birds - and we bring back the surviving human race. We, of course aren't really human, just hybrids to survive and adapt better.
Aiden Cole is my mission, and as this chemical called "God", let Him watch me conquer the unachieveable. I will not stop until I find Aiden Cole or die trying. I will not stop until the world is saved. I will never stop. Never.
