Chapter 1: Just Another Day

Lauren's POV

"Lauren and Dani! We're leaving for school in five minutes!" Alex yelled from downstairs. I was quickly getting ready for school, sprinting around the house.

"Dani! Do you have an extra skort I can borrow?" I asked as I rushed into our room.

"Yeah, it's on my bed," she answered as she got her bag ready. Like everyday, Alex, Dani, and I were rushing to get to school. We three go to a private Catholic school, Bishop Montgomery High School. But lately, Dani and I have been getting homeschooled a little bit because of the band we have with our other sisters.

"Hey Lauren!" A voice yelled at me. Alex, Dani, and I had just gotten to school and we still had about twenty minutes until it started. I looked over at the voice that was yelling at me to find my boyfriend Jason.

"Hey Jason," I said as I walked closer to him. I forced a smile and gave him a hug. Jason is a great attractive guy, it's just he gets cocky sometimes and does drugs and drinks all of the time. But I still love him, he'll do anything for me... except not drink and do drugs. Somehow he hasn't cheated on me at a party yet.

"It's our one month anniversary and I got you a little something...." He said smiling. He then took out a bouquet of flowers, a dark chocolate bar, and a little stuffed dog. I forced another smile at him then gave him a hug... how does he not know that I hate dark chocolate and dogs?

"Sorry, I forgot it was our one month anniversary," I said innocently.

"It's alright babe," he replied as his strong arms engulfed me in a huge hug. "A kiss would make it up."

"Haha okay," I said as we both leaned in and kissed each other on the lips. We pulled apart and I said, "I have to go now."

"Okay, love you! Bye!" Jason answered as I started to walk away. I carelessly yelled back to him, "Love you too!" then went to find my friends as I carried the gifts I got from Jason.

"Hey Laur!" Angela yelled. I ran up to her and gave her a quick hug as Elli jumped onto my back.

"So Jason got you some gifts?" Elli asked giggling.

"Yep, it's our one month anniversary, I kinda forgot," I answered.

"Well, you can always give him to me haha. Just kidding, I can't believe he forgot that you hate dark chocolate and dogs," Elli said then remembered something and added, "Remember your experience with the dog? HAHA!"

"Of course I do," I said getting a shiver at the memory of it.

"Man, I really wish I had been there to witness that," Angela said. We all started laughing then Angela and Elli started talking about how a new student who was going to be starting here today, of course, I forgot... or I was never informed... I don't know, I forgot either way.

"So, what's this girl's name?" I asked curiously as we headed to the cafeteria where all of our other friends were.

"Mrs. Jones said Skilar... I forgot the last name, sorry," Angela said.

"It's alright, I can't wait to meet her," I said in a fake enthusiasm as we entered the cafeteria. A bunch of our other friends invited us over to sit at a table. A couple of them then asked me about Jason. I told them all about how cute he was when he gave me the gifts. Elli and Angela are the only ones who know about my hatred towards dogs, they are my closest friends and have been there for me since practically forever.

RING!

The first bell rang and we all started to get up and go to our first block. I walked with my friend Julia, who is in my first class. We both stopped at each other's lockers before going to class. The whole time, Julia was talking about the gifts her boyfriend gives her. Honestly, I did not care and I was just too tired to listen but I tried to acknowledge her bragging about how perfect her boyfriend is. To be honest, my boyfriend isn't perfect so she really did not need to tell me how perfect hers was.
