Chapter 12: What's Going To Make You Fall?

Lauren's POV

"I'm home!" I yelled as I stepped into the house. Lisa groaned from upstairs in an effort to somewhat acknowledge me.

"Wait!" Someone yelled at me, just as I was halfway up the stairs. I turned around to see my mom smiling at the bottom of the stairs.

"Yes?" I said, assuming she wanted me to do a chore or that I was in trouble.

"How'd it go?" She asked me with a wide smile as I slowly climbed down the stairs.

"How'd what go?" I asked her confused.

"Oh don't be stupid, how'd your little date with Skilar go?" She asked with a little giggle. I blushed then said quickly in my defense, "It wasn't a date."

"Oh sure it was!" She said overjoyed.

"Mom, she doesn't even know I like her. I'm not gay, she's not gay, we'll never be together." I stated.

"Well, you may not be gay but I think you're bisexual." She said as we walked over to sit at the piano.

"I'm not bi mom." I said annoyed.

"Well, do you think girls are just attractive as guys?" She asked. That hit me, I never had thought of that.

"Well, um... uh... I don't know, I guess so. I mean, I think all of my guy friends are just as attractive as my girl friends." I spilled out.

"Okay, so you're bi. About time you came out, you usually are pretty unsocial on the weekends." Mom said laughing.

"Hey!" I said offended.

"I just had to say that! Anyways, you should be glad I accept you." Mom said smiling.

"True. It's just-" I said then got choked up.

"It's just what?" Mom asked with caring eyes staring back at me.

"It's just, I don't think I can accept the fact that I'm bi and I don't think anyone at my school or any of my fans would be able to either. It's just so foreign to me." I said, just letting it out.

"Well, do you like Skilar?" She asked.

"I love her." I blurted out before I could stop myself. After realizing what I had just said, I was shocked at first but I didn't regret it, it was the truth.

"Okay, tell me three things you love about her." Mom asked.

"Well, I love her smile, the way she laughs, the way she can make me laugh, the way she makes me get butterflies in my stomach, the way her blue eyes shine, the way she talks so quickly when she's excited about something, the way she's always there for me, the way her blonde hair hangs down her shoulders, the way she calls me a nerd, the way she makes me blush when she laughs or says something cute, the way she's so strong, the way she lights up when she finally understands the chemistry homework, the way she fangirls over Cimorelli the band, the way she's in awe and doesn't know I'm watching her beautiful happy face, and the way her finger tips are so touchable... she's irresistible." I said dreamily and blushed redder than a tomato. I then realized I had said five times the amount of reasons I love her than mom had asked, if I could blush anymore, I did just then.

"You see? God has a plan for you and Skilar." Mom said as tears rolled down her cheeks, giving me a long hug. She said through happy tears, "I know what you and Skilar will have will be beautiful." She then left me alone standing at the bottom of the stairs and she continued to so whatever she was doing beforehand.
