Chapter Ten (10)

"If I win, you have to pay for the food you bought." Keith says rubbing the bowling ball in his hand while giving me a mischievous look. Since we came to the Bowling Alley about an hour ago I've ordered one box of pizza, ten pieces of wings, a large Pepsi, and two slices of cake--and they weren't too cheap. I would win this anyway, Keith was good at bowling but I was better. 

"Fine, you're on." I say stepping behind Keith to give him more room. Keith positioned his hands on the bowling ball, backed up, and released the ball. All the pins knocked over in unison and Keith turned and smirked at me before backing up to give me room.

"Luck," I retort raking a ball from the rack and positioning it. Right as I was about to throw the ball Keith began singing and dancing--really loudly.

"My hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my sexy lady lumps." Keith turns around and dramatically slapped his butt then gives me an over-feminine look. I hold in the laugh building in and glare at him,

"Stop it! You're going to make me laugh!"

I reposition myself and swing my arm back and I let go of the ball just as Keith decided to put up two bowling balls against his chest, making me laugh and lose my aim completely. The ball went to the side and rolled down with knocking anything over. "You jerk!" I protest.

"Hey," he says snapping his fingers, "Don't hate me 'cause I'm beautiful."

"You cheated."

"You're just a sore loser."

"You made me laugh!"

"No one told you to look at me. I mean, I know I'm sexy and everything but if you ignored me you would've made it. It's okay though, I know how hard it is for you to resist me. That'll be forty-eight fifty."

"You know, I was pretty sure the male pays for the date."

Keith looks at me like I've grown two heads, "And your point is?"

I roll my eyes, take out my purse, and fish out fifty dollars. I look down at my wallet and right there on display is a picture of Cam and I together. We went to the museum Cam insisted we go on and we took the picture in front of a giant fountain proudly standing in front of the building. As I lift the picture closer to my face Keith comes back from the cashier and gives me a perplexed look,

"You ready to go?"

"Yeah," I say looking up at him and displaying a smile as I put the picture away. I allow Keith to put his arms around my shoulders and lead me out the building. The air is colder than from what it was this morning. 

"So where now?" I ask as Keith slides in next to me in the back of his car. 

"Why don't you choose now?" 

"Theaters!"

Keith rolls his eyes playfully and smiles at me, "So unpredictable." he leans in the front of the car and speaks to the driver, "The theaters."

"First of all, I don't what you're talking about. Taylor Launter was hot in that movie, okay? I think you're jealous." I protest as we leave the movie room. 

"That's a laugh."

"You're mad that you don't have his faint-worthy body!"

"Yes, because there aren't more important things in life."

"That's what everyone says when they've been proven wrong."

Keith ignores my comment, takes my hand and walks out the theater with me. The sun was completely down now, it was about ten by now. I wonder what Cam was thinking about where I was. Gingerly, Keith sits on the bench facing the sky and looks up at the sky. I take the opportunity to also look up. The black sky is cloudless and decorated with bright white stars.

"You know you're dating an engaged woman?" I say randomly turning to look Keith. He stares at the sky for a few more moments before finally turning around and answering me by lifting my chin and giving me a kiss so lightly I barely feel it.

"I know, I just don't care," he says.

The next morning I received another email.

I know, I know, it's too short but I've had the longest writer's block for all my stories lately and this was the best I could come with. I promise to try to improve on the next chapter :(
