Creep

_______ was beginning to realize that Ikebukuro wasn't a very big city. After about a couple of hours, Shizuo had pretty much shown her the entire place. All the best places to relax, good spots to chill without the gangs bothering anybody, even some good convenient stores for cheap cigarettes. During their tour, ______ couldn't help but notice how many people were gawking at the two of them. Some of them whispered while staring, and too many of them had practically jumped out of their way as they strolled down the street. Anxiety welled up inside of her with the thought of how small this place was, and how quickly word could travel... But when she looked up to Shizuo next to her and saw how calm he looked, it took away a small amount of the worry. She just couldn't see how his hands were clenching and unclenching in his pockets with aggravation.

Shizuo tried with all his might to keep his cool around ______. He knew why all of these people were staring. They were wondering why this sweet girl was walking around with a monster. He was never seen with a woman around town, except Celty. Maybe people were noticing this was the same girl he had been seen with last night. He sighed quietly and turned his glance to ______, who didn't seem to notice all the people staring. He couldn't believe he had agreed to showing her around, and knew it was probably a bad idea, but he couldn't tell her no. Something about how she didn't know exactly what he was made him feel good, even if it was a little selfish of him. Why not enjoy the quiet company while he can? Before she finds out about him and runs as far away as possible? He was jarred from his thoughts when he heard her ask a question.

"What?" he stopped and turned to her, now feeling rude for not paying attention.

"I said, what the hell were you doing last night outside of my building?" she asked, giving him a crooked grin. "You were acting like a mad man..."

He stared at her for a moment, cursing Izaya in his head. Thankfully, he was saved by his phone ringing loudly from his pocket. He didn't really want their time to be cut short, but he was glad he didn't have to answer her question right away.

"Shit... Im sorry." ______ smiled and lit a cigarette while he pulled the screeching phone out if his pocket. The screen flashed unknown name. Shrugging, he answered, assuming it was Tom. "Yeah?"

_______ puffed on her cigarette and hummed to herself while She watched Shizuo answer his phone. The time they had spent walking around Ikebukuro made her feel great. They got to know each other a little bit, and they had quite a bit in common aside from their social awkwardness. They even joked a little, which she was happy to see he laughed at her stupid puns. Not having much human interaction over the years has made her humor a little more darker than most would like. Then to hear that his was along the same lines as hers only made her feel a bit more human than usual. She ashed her cigarette and cocked her head when she heard his voice turn from normal to venomous in an instant.

"Where are you??!" she heard him hiss into the phone. Maybe Tom was in trouble? "Listen here..." Shizuo turned his back to her and began looking around. She couldn't stop herself from looking around too. What was he looking for? Just as she flicked her cigarette out, she heard an awful sound from behind her. Was that a laugh? She turned slowly to see where the spine tingling laugh came from. Her eyes landed on a young man, holding a phone to his ear. She looked the man over and felt an overwhelming urge to run away. She could almost smell trouble emitting from him... She took in his fur trimmed jacket, jet black hair, stopping to stare at his face. He has eyes that were so brown, they were almost red, and a devilish grin on his mouth that made her want to rip it off. What was it about this guy that made her so angry? ______ blinked out of her daze when she heard Shizuo behind her.

Shizuo was done. Izaya calling him in the middle of the day to taunt him?! His head snapped when he heard the laugh through the phone AND behind him. He slammed his phone shut and whirled around to see Izaya standing behind him and ______. He narrowed his eyes and pushed his sunglasses up, trying to stay calm in front of ______.

"When will you learn to just stay out of my way?" he gritted his teeth when Izaya laughed.

"Shizu-chan... I must say, I'm a little disappointed to see that my favorite human is slowly becoming soft." Izaya held his hands up in a shrug, shaking his head. "I wasn't surprised to see you two out together." his smile returned when his eyes moved to ______. This bastard was playing a game with him, and he was trying his hardest to not let Izaya win.

"Get out of here Izaya." he growled, stepping in front of the confused girl, placing his hands in his pockets.

"Or what?" he chuckled. "You wouldn't want to scare your new friend, would you?" Shizuo was finding it harder and harder to not lunge for the sorry excuse of a man before him, but he was right... He didn't want to run ______ off. He felt his chest tighten when Izaya cackled, moving closer, leaning to the side of him to see ______. "Then again, maybe you wouldn't get scared. Am I right, ______?" he winked. Great, he knows her name so he's been researching her. But why? He only wasted his time on people he found to be interesting...

"Leave her out of this, Izaya!" Shizuo felt his voice get louder as his fist clenched so hard in his pocket, he could feel his nails digging into his palm. Izaya scoffed and spun around, arms out.

______ watched as Izaya spun around, anger building inside her. It was beginning to seem like this creep knew a little more about her than just her name. How, though?

"______, my dear, i would try to warn you to stay away from this monster.... Except, from what I hear, he's nothing you can't handle." he smirked at her, and the look made her cringe. She was ready to lunge past Shizuo and rip this guy's tongue out before he said anything else about her that might ruin her chances of living in this town, let alone having a friend.

Shizuo didn't want to hear anymore from Izaya. He saw how uncomfortable ______ looked, and that was enough for him to get fed up. He didn't want to hear anything else the prick had to say, even if it was a little curious to him.

"Don't make me tell you again..." he hissed, taking a step closer to Izaya. He felt the anger in him reach the point of not caring what happened next, as long as he got a hit on him. Izaya just kept the same twisted smile.

"My, my.... Shizu-chan is awfully defensive over his new lady-friend." Izaya pouted. "You're becoming too predictable. Befriending yet another monster." Those words did it. Shizuo cocked his fist back and swung it forward, missing Izaya by inches as he dodged the punch. "So sensitive..." he smirked, making Shizuo want to rip him apart.

'Monster'. The word made that last straw in ______'s head snap. She felt that pit of darkness swallow her, losing all care for staying under the radar. Shizuo's grunts and growls were drowned out while she looked around, trying to find something to shut Izaya up with. Her eyes finally landed on a food cart someone had left unattended. She moved over to it, watching as Izaya kept dodging Shizuo's blows. When she saw that neither of them were paying her any mind, she grabbed the cart, lifting it over her head and taking aim.

Shizuo wanted nothing more than to wrap a street sign around Izaya and throw him into the water somewhere... But he didn't want to scare ______. As he reeled back again in an attempt to hit the bastard, he was caught off guard by a food stand slamming into the black haired man in front of him. Izaya was sent flying backwards, with a loud thwack as he slammed into the ground. Shizuo straightened himself and turned slowly to see where the cart had come from. He stared open mouthed at ______, arms stuck out in front of her in a throwing motion, panting heavily. He didn't even care that Izaya was wiggling out from under the cart to make a run for it... All he could do was stare at the girl before him. He finally realized what Izaya meant. ______ was the one behind the lamp post that went hurdling past him last night. She was like him. He didn't fight back the smile that crept to his lips when he turned around to watch Izaya disappear in the distance.

______ stared, panting heavily. "What did I just do? I've fucked eveything up...." She thought, letting her arms fall to her side. The world came back to her so quickly, it made her head spin. Hearing all the on lookers gasp and whisper made her want to run, so she did. She quickly turned away, before she saw Shizuo walking towards her, and took off. She ran to her house as fast as she possibly could, wanting to distance herself from the people, and Shizuo. She never even heard him call out to her as she shoved past people, rushing to get home and hide.
