For the second day in a row, ________ found herself sitting in Russia Sushi with Tom and Shizuo while wondering if this was the only place the two of them ate. Tom kept insisting on taking the two of them out for an early dinner, given that they made a little extra from the collection. The three of them were sharing a couple plates of sushi when Tom stopped Dennis to order a few drinks before turning back to ________.

"I still can't believe how you just chucked that thing at him!" His enthusiasm was making _______ feel weird, due to the fact that she wasn't used to being praised for her curse without some kind of evil motive. "I mean, I see Shizuo do it all the time... but seeing someone else? Just crazy!" Tom continued going on and on while Shizuo raised his glass to ________ in cheers. She sighed in relief when Shizuo finally tried to change the subject.

"So Tom, I take it that she's on?" Tom blinked.

"Well, Hell yeah!" He downed his drink and grinned. "With both of you around, nobody will give us any grief!" ________ chuckled.

"With both of us, what if people will be too scared to ask for money...?" They all burst out laughing, knowing that there will always be morons in this city.

After paying their bill, Tom and ________ exchanged phone numbers before he said his goodbye and headed home. Shizuo watched Tom walk off, then slowly turned toward ________ while lighting a cigarette. Pride swelled in him once again, and it was a nice feeling. Or, maybe it was the few drinks Tom kept ordering for them finally kicking in... ________'s cheeks were a bit flushed, so he thought that had to be it. The two of them moved away from the front door of the restaurant to smoke their cigarettes.

"I told you Tom would bring you on." Shizuo said matter of factly as ________ turned to him with a wide grin on her face.

"Thank you, Shizuo!" She exclaimed while poking him in the chest. "You are absolutely the best!" He smiled sweetly at her as she continued, "I can't believe you found me a job I'm good at!" She puffed her cigarette while beaming up at him. He held true to one of his promises, now all he had to do was hold up to his other of keeping her safe, he thought to himself as he watched people pass them. Suddenly, a wave of panic hit him. Would this job bring too much attention to her? If Izaya knew who she was so quickly, then maybe those freaks after her will find her quickly as well... Given that Izaya hasn't tipped them off yet. He instantly calmed down though, knowing that Izaya wouldn't make it that easy. The flea liked playing games too much to throw her under the bus so soon.

Lost in his thoughts, he noticed ________ was saying something to him. Not wanting to come off as rude, he nodded his head in agreement, feeling guilty that he wasn't really paying attention and hoped she wouldn't notice.

"Well, come on then!" When he looked back at her, she was a few steps ahead of him and motioning for him to follow her. Apparently, she had asked for him to accompany her on her walk home. He gladly obliged, assuming that if he had a slight buzz, she probably did too. He didn't want anybody bothering the girl on her way home. And after a few minutes of walking, he concluded that she was buzzed. He loved it. She was more animated in her movements while she became more and more talkative, and he actually liked hearing her ramble on to him about nothing in particular. He listened intently to the small girl go on about how she wound up in Ikebukuro. The stories she told him, while staying vauge, still somehow made him feel closer to her all while making that damned weird feeling in his chest grow... he still didn't know what to think of the feeling. He figured he would talk to Celty and Shinra about it later.

When they reached her building, he wasn't ready to say goodnight. So it took a lot in him to hide his enthusiasm when she sheepishly invited him up to hang out a bit more.

"I'm so glad the landlord fixed my door." ________ said while pulling the door to her apartment open, shooting Shizuo a playful glare. His cheeks grew hot as he looked down to his feet in guilt. "Loosen up, I'm just picking on ya." She chuckled and headed into the kitchen while Shizuo went to sit on the couch and lit a cigarette. Taking a drag, he watched ________ rummage through her kitchen again while his mind trailed off again. He caught himself imagining them spending more mornings and nights like this, then his thoughts turned into a fantasy of him and her snuggling on the couch while quietly flipping through pages of a book together. Why in the Hell was he imagining that? As the thought slowly stemmed to the two of them going out to dinner alone, he was snapped out of it by the sound of a loud thunk in front of him.

"Drinks?" She smiled, plopping down next to him. After being embarassed by his own thoughts, he would love a drink to help push the them out of his head.

"Sure." He shrugged, and ________ took the bottle to begin filling their shot glasses. He tried not to watch as her small hands moved around gracefully, and definitely tried not to look too far into the close proximity she had chose to sit on the couch next to him. Their knees bumped as she leaned forward to pour the drinks, and then her knee barely sat ontop of his thigh when she sat back to cross her legs. He watched her as she rested her head back on the couch, and quickly looked away when she turned it to look at him. He fiddled nervously with his glass while she spoke, trying to focus on the drink in it that would be bitter, and burn on his lips. He quickly took the shot, and was pleasantly surprised at the sweet flavor the drink had.

"It's green apple flavored." She grinned at the shocked look on his face. It seems you like sweet things, and I used to love this stuff back home... I thought you would prefer this." Shizuo looked over to her and chuckled.

"This stuff is pretty good... I might get into trouble if I keep drinking it." _______ laughed.

"Trouble is my middle name."
