Sayrim placed a her hand on top of theirs and smirked.

"You know better than that, Xenovix. Obviously you will need your courageous saviour to protect you."

Xenovix sighed as she turned to Axvel to give her greetings.

"I am Sayrim, the granddaughter of the current leader of the fallen angels."

The company had stared at her in disbelief.
"Then you should be back from where you came from, not hanging around a wizard and useless mortal, may I say." Ixal concluded, crossing his arms across his chest, staring bitterly at the girl.

"May I say, that apparently I have also lost my home and have nowhere to go." Sayrim shot back. Ixal kept quiet but he was bothered with the fallen angel's graceless smiles and kept giving Xenovix and Sayrim rude glances.

"Ixal, may you not be so rude?" Isri commented, shaking her head at her brother's discourtesy.

"I apologize for my brother's rudeness, for we will go with you on your journey if we may." Isri commented, to Ixal's surprise.

"We may what?"

"Of course, the more the better." Sayrim agreed, exchanging Isri with considerate smiles.

Without any further arguments, the group had carelessly and effortlessly fell asleep in the crowded but cozy house.

Once again, Xenovix could not fall asleep, as his stomach growled noisily, not letting him rest. He quietly sat up from his relaxed position to scan the room for any signs of food. The room was not so silent anymore with the peaceful snores and mumbles coming from the rest of the travellers.

"Xenovix?"

The boy turned hurriedly as he was now facing with the pale-faced girl who stared back at him curiously, as a torch illuminated the room, its flame flickered about as Isri waited patiently for his reply.

"Good night, Isri. What a time to see you up and about at this time." Xenovix chuckled nervously, hiding a piece of bread behind his back.

"What is it that you are doing at a time like this?" Isri pondered.

"I could not fall asleep. It is very loud."

Isri laughed softly, even her laugh was so gentle and admirable.

"I understand why, they are indeed quite the noisy ones."

Xenovix nodded his head in agreement as the two stood in silence, listening to the continuous snores.

"Xenovix, may you be hungry?" Isri questioned, noting the piece of bread Xenovix had clutched tightly in his hands.

"I-I actually am..."

Isri smiled as she peeked over at the wizard that had peacefully snored away and nodded at Xenovix.

"I will not tell him."

Xenovix awkwardly brought the pastry to his mouth and gobbled it up in a mere few seconds as each bite followed the next.

"Promise?" Xenovix whispered, licking the crumbs off his fingers.

"I promise."

Even in the morning, the room was still dim, as sunlight could not make its way inside the room. The torch had died out from last night and Xenovix finally had fallen asleep, with a half-full stomach.

"We should be heading out now." Axvel stated, turning to the tired but refreshed group.

"Do you know where we are supposed to be heading towards?" Isri inquired, her hair stuck out in all different sorts of directions as she was occupied with untangling the mess.
