“Please come home with me.”

If I had not been this drunk, I probably would’ve been in shock. I can’t be sure about it though, because I really was wasted.

I never went home with guys I had just met, I never got really drunk and did stupid things, but apparently tonight was about to change that. And I’m not saying that making out with Adam was a bad thing for me, but for our careers it was definitely the dumbest thing we could’ve possibly done.

“Okay.” I answered before kissing him on his lips again.

Adam released himself from me and looked at me, one brow raised and a big grin on his face. “Really?”

I nodded. “Yeah, why not.”

He chuckled. “Right, why not.”

Adam grabbed my hand and led me back to the parking lot. Right before we left the ally, he stopped me though.

“I’m not sure if…” he started, his eyes looking puzzled.

“If what?” I asked. Probably he already doubted if his idea was any good. Or maybe he realized I was no Victoria Secret model, and that I wasn’t good enough.

“I’m not sure if we should drive together.” he finally said. “If someone sees us together we’re screwed.”

I nodded, glad that that was his only worry. “I can call a cab?” I said, knowing I was way too drunk to drive. Adam shook his head. “No, if a cab drops you off at my house at three in the morning, they’re going to suspect things. Plus, the cabby could remember you, see you on The Voice in a few months, and start rumors.”

He was right, of course, but I had no idea what he wanted to do then.

“Okay,” he said. “You are going to be driven by my driver, who I’m going to call in a minute. I can trust him, since he’s working for me and I’ve known him for a long time, so you don’t have to worry.”

He added that last part as soon as he saw my face. My eyes must have given away that I thought his driver could talk also.

“What about you?” I asked.

“I am going to take a cab.”

“All right.” I said and I started to walk towards the entrance of the building.

“Where are you going?” Adam asked as he followed me.

“To give Kate the keys to my Mini, and tell her she doesn’t have to wait for me.”

“Right.” he said. “I’ll wait here.”

As I suspected Kate was ok with it. She wanted to make sure that I was certain that I wanted to go home with my coach, but leaving that aside, she said she’d gladly drive my Mini back to our apartment.

“There you are.” Adam welcomed me back with a huge grin on his face.

“Yes I am.” I grinned back.

I think we looked like two fools, grinning at each other, but it felt great.

“Scott’s here.” Adam said. He gestured with his head to the big fence. A black Mercedes came driving towards us. I felt nervous when I got in the backseat of the car. I just made it into the live rounds of The Voice, and I was already being treated as a celebrity. Adam told the driver to bring me to his house, and the man professionally agreed. He had black hair that was turning gray at a lot of places, and a twinkle in his friendly eyes. He smiled at me through the rearview mirror and I politely smiled back.
